Dr. Leroy Lavern Schroeder, MD

I was a patient for about 3years with Dr. Schroeder. He has been treating me for my diabetes 2 and also my high blood pressure. At the very beginning I was put on two high blood pressure medications that seemed to agree with my other medications and also with my body. After some time on the two blood pressure medications I had shown improvement on my blood pressure readings so, Dr. Schroeder made the decision to take me off one of the medications. At the beginning of being taken off the one high blood pressure medication my readings was in good standing. This last visit I had a very high reading and he immediately made the decision to prescribe a different pill to help lower the reading. I told him I was probably just nervous and he insisted on me taking this pill. So, I started to take the pill for a few days and I soon started to feel very dizzy and I was feeling sick to my stomach and having diarrhea . I reported these issues several times to Doctor Schroder's… secretary. The secretary is excellent. She reported back to me very quickly . It just so happens that the doctor was on vacation for a week and I felt like he didn't want to help me. His responses was for me to continue to take the medication until the blood pressure came down. He wasn't understanding that I was having bad reactions to the drug. I asked to please put me back on the drug that he took me off of that helped me get the readings down. He wouldn't prescribe me that pill again that helped my blood pressure to be lower and that agreed with my system and my other medications. So with that being said Doctor Schroeder was not being understanding with the side effects that I was having with this drug. He showed NO EMPATHY OR CONCERN. All he kept saying was to continue to take this drug. He wouldn't help me by doing what I had requested which was to prescribe me the drug that I was on the first time that helped me get the high blood pressure readings down. I thought when you become a doctor you do what ever it takes to help a patient????

Never have I felt more uncomfortable with a doctor. He places himself so that the nurse who just stands by the door and does nothing can’t see what he is doing with his hands! He didn’t need to extend his hand to an open position and cover my whole breast just to listen to my heart! It was uncalled for. Then he scooted his stool in so much, his crotch was touching my hand and I had to move my hand from my knee! I left his office feeling molested! I will never go back to that doctor! I don’t care how far I have to travel! I hope karma gets him!

dr Schroeder is a skilled, intelligent man. he caught my thyroid cancer and sent me to a specialist in Columbus. I hold him in high regard. he has a direct, aggressive manner. I would prefer a doctor who is going to push for results. most of the people who have issues with him, don't want to follow orders. as long as your follow what he feels is best for your health you'll get along fine.

He is a world class jerk. He is exceptionally rude. Very condescending. Would not listen to any of my concerns. He knew everything and that was that. Had me in tears. Several people I know feel the same way about him. Will not ever recommend him to anyone. It was apparent he treats his staff the same way.

My 75 year old Mother had a nodule on her thyroid. Dr. Schroeder told her it was cancer and she needed a specialist. Turned out the cleveland clinic informed us the only way to tell whether the thyroid is cancerous is to remove and biopsy it. Turned out, NO cancer. Dr Schroeder scared us to death! Bad doctor!
