Dr. Russell Patrick Sawyer, MD

Dr. Sawyer was the first one to give me the news. I had just retired from teaching at a major university. I did not believe him. Got second opinion from Mayo Clinic, confirmed it. Sawyer is doing an excellent job. He's gained my trust. He listens. Plus, he's on top of his profession. When you have dementia you want the best to be made out of this dire illness. I trust Dr. Sawyer with the rest of my life. Finally, I do call his office to get an appointment sooner whenever I feel I need one. So good doctor plus patient or caregiver to make appointments to discuss concerns. He listens. Ive put this old man's mind iin his hands.

Dr. Sawyer is treating my mother at this time. He and his staff (Sarah and others) treat my mom with the utmost respect. He is always a joy to converse with and my mom and our family love him. We are blessed to have such a great Neurologist in Cincinnati at UC Health.

My mother was brought in earlier this year and given 2 medications after one visit. CT Scan only. My father, who looks after my mom suffering with dementia, was told to come back in a year to see how the medicines are working. A year? Exactly what about the process would allow for a whole year to pass before an evaluation? Also, there was no additional counseling. No family counsel to negotiate the coming task of care. Seemed like some rookie level care to me. But what do I know?
