Dr. Jed Assam, MD

Dr. Jed Assam is an ophthalmologist who specializes in surgery and has been practicing medicine for nine years. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency and internship at University of Texas Medical Branch Hospitals/Methodist Hospital in 2021. Dr. Assam furthered his training with a fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2023. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Assam practices at VRA Vision in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and maintains an affiliation with University of Texas Medical Branch. His expertise focuses on treating conditions such as posterior vitreous detachment, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal vein occlusion. He performs advanced procedures including retinal imaging and optical coherence tomography to diagnose eye conditions, as well as anti-VEGF treatments to help preserve and improve vision.
