Dr. G. Philip Sayegh is the founder of Gastroenterology of Hudson Valley. A Westchester native, he earned undergraduate degrees in biology and philosophy from Stony Brook University before receiving his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. With a strong interest in healthcare administration and community health, he also completed an MBA at the Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.
Dr. Sayegh was a founding member of the Internal Medicine residency program at Orange Regional Medical Center (now Garnett Health) in Middletown, New York, where he served as the program’s first chief resident and was honored by colleagues and mentors as Resident of the Year. He completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center, serving as chief fellow in his final year. Recognizing the broad systemic effects of obesity, he pursued an additional fellowship in obesity medicine to broaden his …clinical expertise.
Dr. Sayegh is board‑certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is board‑eligible in Obesity Medicine. His clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and management of diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, and liver, with complementary expertise in nutrition and obesity medicine to support comprehensive, multidisciplinary patient care.
