Dr. Alfredo Iardino, MD

My mom was hospitalized in medical center hospital and during the night she could not take good breath so I got a call for this doctor, from the begging he was respectful and explained what was going on with mom. He told me they needed to put a tube in her throat and that my mom was trying to call from her cellphone because she was afraid and he recommended me to come to the hospital and when getting there he called me again asking me if my mom have been intubated in the past and asked me if there were any difficulties when that happened and I am so glad he took the time to ask that because I was nervous and forgot that she has a narrow throat. I got to the 4th floor there was an anesthesiologist fighting with my mom's throat trying to intubate her and I heard when she said than she run out of option, the doctor introduce himself and explained what was going on but immediately he recommended using a camera that he put in my mom's throat and asked for what the nurse told was a weird… kind of tube and in 10 minutes he was able to connect her to the life support machine. he later explained to me what happened and I was amazed all the time he took to be with me and my brother that later arrived. I wanted to share this experience because he deserve to be recognized after all the time he gave us as family and the way he acted, being only a senior resident as he introduce himself to us was able to intubate my mom in 10 min, the nurses where saying that the anestesia lady took almost 1 hour and cold no accomplish anything. I am very grateful for all the nurses in medical center and with texas tech for always been there for us and my mom

Dr. Iardino, or Dr. Alfredo as he told me to call him, since he got into the room in the ED gave me a sense of peace. He asked the right question, and he was teaching the other residents and medical students with him into the room, always asking my permission first. He admitted me to the ICU and took the time, even being like 2 AM in the morning to call my family members and my pharmacy to get all my information to make sure everything was right. He checked on my almost every hour, and there was a moment that my blood pressure was low and he took a chair and sit in my room giving orders in a very pleasant manner to the nurses and always explaining what was going on. I could not believe when the next day I was told he is only a resident, I remember he telling me, but I though I heard wrong.

Dr. Iardino was the resident that took care of me during my admission. He is very thorough, smart, and compassionate. He admitted me to the ICU and explained is full what was going on and later took care of me on the medical floor and my discharge.
