Dr. Bayan Thomas Jalalizadeh, MD

Welcome.  I’m Dr. Bayan Jalalizadeh, M.D., a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who is passionate about helping young people find their spark.  I believe in providing mental health treatment that is personal, compassionate, and evidence-informed.

I founded Inspire Youth Psychiatry and Wellness to provide more than the standard psychiatric care: I combine gold-standard, evidence-based psychiatry, a values-driven treatment plan, creative tools, nutritional and lifestyle coaching, and collaborative care with families and providers.  I take the time to get to know each person’s background, challenges, and goals.  With experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), I bring a strong therapeutic approach to my care.  At Inspire Youth Psychiatry and Wellness, I seek to not only provide youth with expert psychiatric care, but to empower them with …vision, purpose, and a brighter future.

My Background:

My 20 years of community grassroots empowerment work with children and youth, combined with my training at leading medical institutions, all help me understand where each young person is along their developmental path and meet their unique needs.  Outside of the office or community work, I’m also a writer, a musician, and a creative, having authored books for children and YA, contributed to children’s magazines, and presented workshops on creative service.  With many young people, and especially for those who are “gifted” or “twice exceptional,” connecting with these powerful tools can make all the difference and can light that spark on the path to a thriving adulthood.

• Recommendations, education, and coaching on lifestyle adjustments, nutrition, and daily practices to enhance mental wellness

• Exploration of purpose and meaning through mindfulness and creative approaches

Through my practice website or WebMD, you can book your FREE phone consultation, initial evaluation, or follow-up visits yourself at a time that works for your schedule.

Insurance: 

I seek to provide the most personalized and comprehensive treatment for your child, with longer appointment durations and more flexible accessibility than would usually be offered by standard insurance models.  For that reason, I do not contract directly with insurance carriers and am considered an out-of-network provider.  However, I can guide you on how to receive proper insurance reimbursement for your care.
