Dr. Deidre Janelle Ammah, MD

I saw Dr. Amnah for headaches. She didn't rush through and just prescribe medications like other people have done. She explained the different treatment and what was best for me based on my condition and the other medications I am on.

She really took the time to listen to me. She explained things in a manner that was easy to understand

I was referred to Dr. Ammah for progressive difficulty with speech. She treated me like it was all in my head. She said she could refer me to a neurology clinic at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, but went on and on about how painful the testing would be as though she was trying to scare me from any further follow-up. She finally said she would put in the referral, but she never did, and my internist ended up making the referral instead. Turns out it is NOT in my head. I've been diagnosed with ALS.

She is not only a great listener, she is also explains things in a way anyone can understand.

I had an EMG done by Dr. Ammah and although it was not the most pleasant procedure in the world, this was truly better than the ones that I have had in the past. She took time to explain the procedure (knowing that I had it done before), made sure I was comfortable, and then discussed the results afterwards as well as what I should do next.

Great doctor

I have been seen other neurologists before and she made me feel at ease anout my condition. She truly took her time to explaim things to me.

I went to her after the left side of my body went numb. She alarmingly told me I probably had MS after testing my reflexes without giving me much more information or trying to be reassuring. She ordered an MRI and said she would call me with the results in a week or so. When I didn’t hear back I called her and she said she hadn’t looked at the results yet. I ended up getting sent the results in the mail by the radiology center telling me I had a brain tumor. I called her the next day and she STILL hadn’t looked at the results and she had me read them to her over the phone. She said follow up with her in 3 months. I immediately found a new doctor who tested everything under the sun (I’m only 23 so he said he wanted to rule out everything) and it turns out it’s a glioma. If you want to be taken seriously I wouldn’t go here.
