Dr. Sarit Hovav has the following 1 SPECIALTIES

A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist. Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain. Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

Lifetime Insight was founded on the principle of respect and caring. Medication management coupled with a psychotherapeutic approach can help every person achieve optimal mental health. Psychiatry isn't just about medications, it is learning about yourself and gaining "Lifetime Insight".

Why choose Lifetime Insight?

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology granted her Diplomate status. You're getting the most educated and expert care in mental health.

We always work on minimizing drug-drug interactions. We are generally inclined to prescribe non-habit forming psychotropics. We will start with a lower dose and increase to a higher dose if there is a need up until a therapeutic effect is obtained. We consider the individual circumstance of each patient.  Some may not require medications, some are more prone to side effects, and some have a high tolerance.

Psychotherapy is almost always part of the follow-up that we provide. Some patients require more intense therapy, while some find that just visiting with a psychiatrist at a reasonable interval is sufficient. For a few patients who are highly motivated and willing to participate in regular therapy, Dr. Hovav may be able to provide weekly psychotherapy for those that do not currently have a psychologist or therapist.
