I had bilateral inguinal hernia surgery and Dr. Yunis, Mandy, and the entire team were phenomenal; I had put this off way too long, and wish I would have proceeded sooner, but I did not expect such a great experience with a true expert! This was my first surgery and Dr. Yunis reassured me that all would go well; that confidence was very comforting!

I researched my options thoroughly for my inguinal hernia repair. I am 75 but in good shape and was 100% committed to "no mesh" Shouldice surgery. My interview with Dr. Yunis was comfortable and went beyond his expertise. In 15 minutes, I got to know him personally and he got to know me. What was important to both of us. I trusted his skills, his perspective, his successful history... and I was impressed with his willingness to do any of the 4 surgical options if I was dead set on one. He was confident in his skill to successfully complete all surgical options. I wanted Shouldice and that is what we did... but not until 6 months later after I researched all options and doctors available to me. The day of the operation he talked to me before and after. He could of summed up his work with any adjective, but in post op he chose to say it was "perfect". He said it twice and then said he knew that I would be pushing too hard too early and to not do that. I went out for a walk an… hour after leaving and then went out to dinner that night. I took Tylenol one day. Nothing else. That's it. It's 4 months later and everything has been normal for more than two months. I lightly felt the fold for months but was assured there was nothing I could do to hurt what Dr. Yunis did. I was encouraged to call his office with any questions and did check in twice over two months just to say it's all good but I felt it a little. I was told that would go away in time (I was cautious in recovery activities) and now I never even think about it. I jog every day and ride regular 15 mile bike loops. I was thorough in my search and 100% sure I made the right decision.

I had hernia repair surgery with Dr Yunis a few months ago. Everything went smooth. I decided to go with the "no mesh" option. So far, so good. Also, I requested local anesthesia which he was able to do. Very happy and highly recommend Dr Yunis and his excellent staff. I should add that I used the Sarasota Memorial Hospital. They were also great.

Great initial visit/consultation with Dr Yunis and Mandy. Very professional and no stress. Nice to have the opportunity to meet the whole staff. Everyone was focused on me/patient. I had an anterior abdominal umbilical hernia surgery repair. Happily, everything went well. The procedure was 9-10-25 and today 11-24-25. I feel really great!

From the very first meeting everyone here was wonderful and made me comfortable. Dr Yunis was very informative and was happy to answer all my questions and go over the pro and cons of all my options. My surgery went off without a hitch. Recovery was fast and I'm as good as new. I recommend Dr Yunis to anyone looking for hernia surgery.

He does not accept Medicare because he likes money. After retiring people rely on Medicare.

After two years of constant left inguinal pain that had taken over my life and rendered me non-functional, I finally found my miracle surgeon, Dr. Yunis. Over this time period I saw 19 specialist, had 8 various imaging studies, multiple injections thru pain management, and an assortment of opioid with no clear diagnosis or pain relief. That is until I discovered Dr. Yunis. He diagnosed me with an ilioinguinal/ iliohypogastric nerve neuroma and recommended a double neurectomy. Post surgery from the removal of both nerves was an immediate relief from the extreme pain I had endured for two years. Dr. Yunis repaired a painful hernia I had for over 5 years, and did so expertly! Dr. Yunis and his staff were nothing short of amazing and it was well worth my trip from Upstate New York to the Center for Hernia Repair in Sarasota. After a less than satisfying pre-op appointment with a surgeon in my area during which I could sense some impatience and even a little irritation at my question about the feasibility of non-mesh surgery for my inguinal hernia, I decided to search for another surgeon and I'm so glad I did. After finding Dr. Yunis through watching a series of YouTube videos, I made an appointment through his office for a Zoom (or something) consultation, and I loved him right from the start. He was patient, personable, and willing to answer all my questions openly and honestly, and even before the end of the appointment I knew he was the right surgeon for me. A few weeks later I was in sunny Florida and ready for the operation. Dr. Yunis and his whole staff, including my driver, Michael, who delivered me from Siesta Key to and from the surgical center,… couldn't have been kinder or more professional. Overall the whole experience was a pleasure and, as a bonus, I got to recuperate by taking leisurely walks on one of the highest rated beaches in the world! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up for Doctor Yunis and his entire staff!
