Dr. Dina Rapoport Block, MD

I drove 3 hours for my appointment with Dr Block and I would drive another 3 more. She’s truly the best. I thank god that I found her. She is easy to talk to, exceptionally smart, and so communicative. I will only be going to her to get my care from now on

I have been seeing Dr. Block since 2016. Every time I come, she greets me with a warm smile and remembers details about my life. She is kind, intelligent, and thorough. I will stick with her forever.

It’s so great to find a doctor who actually is a doctor- and not worried about rushing you out and staring at the computer. She’s the best!

This office and doctor treated us horribly! When my son was referred to Dr. Dina Block by a well-known endocrinologist in New York, we were looking forward to meeting her. We sent in all of his intake forms in advance to save time once we arrived at the office. My son is a student at USC, so had to rearrange his schedule to make it to the appointment and ended up being just 10 minutes late for his 2:40 pm appointment due to being a new patient and dealing with parking etc. He checked in and sat down at 2:50 pm, and I met him there at 2:55. After waiting another 5 minutes, an assistant came out and said that, because he was 20 minutes late, Dr. Block would have to cut his appointment short. We corrected her and said he was was only 10 minutes late, but were fine with cutting the appointment short. So, the assistant leaves and we wait another 5 minutes that could have been used to put him in a room and get the appointment started.Then another assistant comes out and re-states what the… other assistant said about being 20 minutes late and that Dr. Block has some type of meeting and now cannot see my son because he was late. We left the office livid and in disbelief because no patient should be treated this way. It was very unkind and inconsiderate. There was no apology. No offer to try to reschedule. Let me clarify that the gentleman at reception was kind and kept stating that we did not arrive 20 minutes late. It was the two doctor's assistants who were rude and inconsiderate. Granted my son was a mere 10 minutes late, but how many times do doctors have patients waiting in their offices for up to an hour at times, and often without an apology? Usually, appointments are cancelled if a patient is 15 to 20 minutes late, but 10 minutes should have been fine, especially since we were understanding about her having to cut the appointment short and willing to do that. If you want to be treated horribly and disrespectfully, see this doctor, otherwise there are plenty of other endocrinologists who respect and appreciate patient referrals.

The only word I can use to express how I feel after meeting Dr. Block. So so grateful.

I honestly felt like a crazy person- going from doctor to doctor and being told that everything is fine. I knew something was wrong. I can't begin to describe how grateful I feel that I found Dr. Block. She didn't rush me and really let me tell my story. She ultimately diagnosed me with PCOS, helped me lose weight, and regulate my periods. I finally feel like myself again.

I met Dr. Block right after I was diagnosed with diabetes. I hadn't been to a doctor in some time and when I went my blood tests showed that I was diabetic. She didn't throw medications at me which I appreciated. We went through my diet and lifestyle and she made recommendations. With her guidance and expertise I have been able to improve my numbers and am no longer diabetic! I am so happy I found her.

Dr. Block left UCLA but I was lucky enough to track her down at USC. The office there is so great and the location is way better than Santa Monica. I would follow Dr. Block anywhere she goes.

I came in because i just was not feeling like myself. I was tired all the time. I have a strong history of diabetes and I’ve been a pre-diabetic for so long so my primary dr did my A1C and sent me over to her. My A1C still said I was pre-diabetic. When I got to her office, she was very abrupt. We talked about my diet and when she found out I have WHEAT toast in the morning she stopped me and told me that’s too much carbs. She repeated my AlC which I just had done with my primary doctor and then EMAILED me and told me I have diabetes. I had so many questions which I emailed her back but she kept not answering my questions. She told me to see a nutritionist which I asked her about first ad when I asked for a referral or recommendation. She just gave me a name. When I called the nutritionist she told me to pay $400 upfront for the visit! Dr blocks consultation visit was $500! I have insurance so I was shocked to see how people have to pay so much with chronic diseases! I was… relatively healthy but always insured before then. I switched my insurance company since then and go to dr Brock! she’s AMAZING!!! She referred me to a nutritionist that is available in the same building and even told me to do a genetic testing to see if I have a strong gene for diabetes since I always work out regularly and have a healthy diet and weight. I’m still upset that I wasted my time and money.

it took me going through 5 endocrinologists before finding one who correctly treated my hashimoto's. i finally feel like myself again.
