Dr. Lydia M Sosenko, MD

Dr. Lydia Sosenko, D.D.S., D.ABDSM, originally from Joliet, Illinois graduated with her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1990. Since that time, she has practiced general dentistry in Naperville, Illinois, where she and her staff are committed to staying abreast of the latest techniques and scientific advances in dentistry.
In 1997, after delivering her first intra-oral appliance for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), Dr. Sosenko has taken a special interest in this area. In 2001, Dr. Sosenko joined the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, where she is now a credentialed Diplomat, and continues to increase her knowledge and commitment in the treatment of apnea and snoring by following the recommended guidelines as to treatment with intra-oral appliances in OSA/snoring management. Dr. Sosenko only works with FDA approved appliances that are for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea Other types do exist but can be …limiting in follow-up sleep studies. At present, she prefers to work with several types of adjustable appliances, of which choice is dependant on many patient factors.
Dr. Sosenko is a founding member of The Dental Organization for Sleep Apnea (DOSA). This organization was developed to make a significant impact on the awareness and screening of Sleep Apnea in the Dental Practice and the recommendation of proper treatment after diagnosis by a physician to include Oral Appliance Therapy. DOSA intends to penetrate the dental marketplace through education and awareness. DOSA would also like to increase the number of screenings done in dental offices around the world for this potentially life threatening condition
Dr. Sosenko is devoted to the well being of her patients and communication with her referring members of the medical and dental fields.
