Dr. Michael Louis Honkonen, MD

Dr. Michael Honkonen is an internal medicine physician with additional expertise in anesthesiology who brings 15 years of medical experience to his practice. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at West Virginia University Hospital. His dual specialization allows him to provide comprehensive primary care while also offering specialized pain management and anesthesia services.

Dr. Honkonen practices at multiple Northwest Medical Center locations throughout the Tucson and Sahuarita areas in Arizona. He focuses on managing high blood pressure in both adult and pediatric patients, including emergency situations involving severe hypertension. His anesthesiology training enables him to perform various pain relief procedures, including nerve blocks for chronic pain management and peripheral nerve blocks for surgical anesthesia, as well as providing sedation services for medical procedures.
