Dr. Joseph Daniel Fakhoury, MD

Dr. Fakhoury's grandfather is the reason he is in medicine. Growing up, he witnessed the mark his grandfather left on all of his patients. He remembers thinking that if he were able to touch the lives of half as many as his grandfather did, he'd be satisfied. According to Dr. Fakhoury, ""One day does not go by where I don't learn something about myself or the world from the children I care for. At the end of the day, witnessing the resiliency of a child is humbling and incredibly rewarding.""In his free time, he likes to travel, attend concerts, enjoy live local bands, and cheer on the Detroit Red Wings and Michigan Wolverines! He also volunteers in the community to support child healthcare advocacy. My philosophy to patient care is to simply approach each patient as an individual. As a pediatrician, it is important to involve the family and child's caregivers in any and all decisions. As such, I practice on the basis of evidence-based medicine alongside with shared …decision making.
