Dr. John D. Wright

I met Dr. Wright at the Mercy Behavioral Center. He was helping a 50 year old male relative whose disability had not been identified even though he was exhibiting life altering behavioral issues throughout his whole life. While my relative was expecting shock treatments and straight jackets I told him that won’t happen and I would be there every day to see how he was doing. Dr. Wright and the staff at Mercy were comforting and calming over the two weeks assessment. All his life he knew there was something wrong with him as did his mother but it took behavioral assessment and later on “one on one” sessions with Dr. Wright to help him understand this disability and since then he has found extended moments of acceptance and love of life that he never had experienced. Dr. Wright’s compassion and empathy, and the Mercy team are a testament to their profession. Thank you, Doctor. You were instrumental in his building a meaningful and peaceful life in ways no one has done before. … Bravo.
