Dr. Zachary Elkin, MD

Terrible bedside manner, was annoyed with my questions, made my daughters issue with her eye worse by giving the wrong prescription. He also did not take his time in the room and seemed rushed or like he had better things to do. We have to get a new prescription as well as engage in therapies to correct his mistake.

It was a follow up appointment for my son after an eye injury. Retina specialists recommended Dr.Elkin ( my son is 14 so he couldn't be seen by these doctors and had to be seen by a pediatric ophthalmologist). The scheduling went smooth and we were able to schedule an appointment next day. The insurance was verified and confirmed by the office as well. The check in at the office was easy and everything was on-time. The doctor was friendly and provided very good care.

Everything was good at first until the doctor took around 5-10 minutes to come into the room after the technician was done which was annoying but what made me feel upset was how he seemed annoyed how I kept asking questions while I was asking questions he started saying Goodbye Goodbye multiple times while I was asking him questions which was very rude since I am paying for his service. He wasn’t patient with me and seemed annoyed for all the questions I kept asking. First and last time I will be ever coming here. I don’t recommend him at all.

I waited months to see Dr. Elkin, then the day of my appt he canceled due to an emergency. We rescheduled for a few days later and the appt was earlier in the morning (only time he had so I took it, but a much more difficult time for me to get my older child to school and get to the office). We were 12 minutes late for the appointment and then I waited for 10 minutes trying to check in, but the line was going slow as all of the front desk people were on the phone. By the time I checked in they said I was 15 minutes late and the doctor would no longer see me. I pushed back given everything I went through to get to the appt. The doctor refused. He's a jerk with who expected me to accommodate his emergency, but who refused to accommodate my child. Who wants to see someone with a bedside manner like that!
