Dr. Rebecca P Lobell

My wife has seen Dr. Lobell for some time. She even helped deliver our son. My wife has asthma. When she asked Dr. Lobell about primary care, she said, “I can handle things like prescribing your inhaler, anxiety medicine, etc.” And she did—for over a year. But this allergy season has been rough, and my wife needed her inhaler more. After sending two messages and calling twice over three days, Dr. Lobell refused to refill it, saying she must now see a PCP. My wife asked if she’d at least refill it once more to avoid an Urgent Care visit and high copay. Dr. Lobell refused. Even when given a chance to meet halfway, she wouldn’t. We get that she may no longer want to handle ongoing scripts—but refusing this last one, without warning, lacks basic compassion. It’s not narcotics—it’s an inhaler. We won’t be returning, and I suggest others look for a more patient-focused OB. Doctors shouldn’t hide behind technicalities when people need help.
