Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I have always enjoyed biology and learning about the intricate workings of the human body. Going to medical school enabled me to pursue that knowledge. While in medical school, I realized that pediatrics was the career for me. Pediatrics allows me to convey my knowledge about the growth and development of infants, children and management of childhood illnesses.What I want my patients to know about me:My goal for my patients is for them to grow up to be healthy and happy. I provide guidance along the way to help them and their families achieve this goal.Caring for my patients and their families is a unique privilege that comes with great responsibility. I am so grateful to have this opportunity and never take if for granted. Every decision I make about patient care combines knowledge, evidence, compassion and understanding. I treat every child as I would my own.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:My husband and I spend time together …exploring the beautiful outdoors. We enjoy hiking, mountain biking and swimming. We rock climb indoors. Our dog comes along on our hiking trips and enjoys cuddling on the couch with us after a long day.
