Dr. Robert Chase Stockton, DO

I was referred to Dr. Stockton because of my chronic back pain problems. I was reassured from my very first visit with him. I sometimes find “specialists” to be difficult to talk to, dismissive of my opinion, or my feelings regarding a condition I have struggled with for many years. I do not like a physician who immediately pushes for a particular procedure to “fix” my problem ( especially something I am not particularly in favor of, like spinal injections or surgery, which do not always provide relief and may, in some cases, complicate matters for a patient ) Dr. Stockton was measured in his approach, he ordered MRI to evaluate my condition, he explained the results in detail, and discussed the available options for treatment. He gave me a chance to express my concerns about his suggestions, he wasn’t annoyed because I had something else in mind for the time being, he was receptive to my ideas, he “worked with me”, and didn’t treat me as a non-compliant patient, right away! I liked… the fact that he didn’t have a rigid attitude about the whole thing, he was being very helpful, but also respectful of me, as an individual and as a patient. He didn’t make me feel like I was being unreasonable or plain stubborn. In the end, surgery may be the only option that can truly help me alleviate the back pain (which can really make my life miserable ) but I am glad to know it will be my decision, after trying other treatments which are not “irreversible”, like surgery can be. And I am pleased to know that Dr. Stockton will guide me during that process. He will not “push me”, he will help me figure out what is best for me. I am grateful.

Dr. Stockton is very friendly, relatable and knowledgeable. He takes the time to listen to your issues and concerns and works out treatment options with you. I had a significant surgery and I went into it confident we had tried everything before we got to that point. Highly recommend.

Great doctor. Very thorough. I’ve been a patient of his for awhile for bad back stenosis. Referred my father to him. My father liked him so much that he dropped his doctor he been seeing for years.

Dr. Stockton changed my life. He performed an ALIF spinal fusion last summer, and my back feels so much better. I’m walking more, I’ve lost weight, and my blood pressure is down. He’s also kind, compassionate, and genuinely funny - he made the whole process easier.

I arrived for my appointment 11am appointment 10 minutes before scheduled. Dr Robert Stockton entered my room around 1131 am, Before entering my room. I overheard Robert chase Stockton speaking vulgarly and very inappropriate to others staff referring to his genitalia. As a patient in pain and need of medical attention. Overhearing vulgarity is inappropriate and very unprofessional. I felt very uncomfortable. His presence made me feel very uncomfortable. Not a pleasant atmosphere for being a medical doctor.

He took the time to explain my diagnosis clearly, answered all my questions patiently, and made sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan. His staff was also courteous and efficient, making appointments and paperwork hassle-free. I felt confident and cared for throughout the entire process. He has been tremendous help! Always can get in to an office visit within reasonable timing. Very knowledgeable and informative. Great bedside manner. I have recommended him a few times and will continue to recommend him.
