Summary
Dr. Newsom earned his medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Newsom then completed the VA Quality Scholars Fellowship Program at the Birmingham VA Medical Center during which he earned a master of science in public health from the UAB School of Public Health. He joined Ochsner in July 2012.
