Dr. Devon Dane Smith, MD

Takes time to listen and seems to care about his patients.

I was most disturbed after my appointment with Dr. Smith. I saw him one time, and decided that was it. His receptionist was rude, and curt in person and on the telephone. If you have any kind of addiction history, you can forget it. He thinks you're seeking meds from him... He prescribed an antidepressant for me, Wellbutrin, and it was horrible with side affects. He told me not to stop taking it under any circumstances. It made me nauseated, I had heart palpitations, I couldn't sleep... I was irritable... Wrong prescription for me... And there was no going back to him for help... He could tell I was severely depressed... He said so...but unfortunately, it didn't seem to me that it mattered . I went to him because he said he was a Christian. That's not what I experienced from him or his office staff. The title "Grace" Internal Medicine, is not an accurate statement. Believe me.... There are more Doctors in practice, that don't know the Lord, that show more grace, care, and… compassion, then this man. I don't recommend him.

HE REALLY CARES FOR HIS PATIENTS. HIS STAFF IS COURTEOUS AND I HAVE NEVER WAITED VERY LONG FOR AN APPOINTMENT. HE IS A GOOD CHRISTIAN MAN.

I never have to wait in the waiting room.Dr.Smith will make you feel like a friend rather than a patient.He is genuinely interrested in my life.Dr. Smith is just an over all good guy,whom you will feel no kind of intimidation what-so-ever(like you might with other doctors).He is,and will always be highly recommended in my book!

Arriving early, and as the first patient in - I was pleased to hear his staff in prayer before they began their day. From the clear, kind and accurate diagnostics and treatments I received, I'd say it's working!

If your receptionist did not grill everyone quite so zealously (regarding narcotic use)when they call to make an appointment, you would probably have a lot more patients. I understand that you are not running a pain clinic, but there is a difference between screening patients and being rude. She is rude. I know of several people who will not go to you because of the way they were treated on the phone. I have heard that you are a really good doctor; the patients of yours I have talked to speak very highly of you. I hope that you can find a way of screening prospective patients without offending everyone who calls. Morristown needs good doctors. Best of luck.

I have been seeing Dr Smith for over 3 years now and my experience has been great. He gives patients respect and he expects it in return. He see his patients in the hospital (which is something hard to find now a days) with great bedside manners. He is straight forward which is the way it should be some people like that..others know it but are just in denial about things and dont want to hear it. The staff is very courteous and prompt to help you with refills or referrals. I believe that he is one of the few that remembers the reason he became a Dr in the first place...Thats to help people....not just get them in and out in a hurry or write you whatever you want...he cares!!!!!

Dr. Smith's receptionist has to be the rudest person in the business. So much for the "grace." I have decided to find another doctor because of her.
