Dr. Thomas Aquinas Lamattina, MD

Dr. Lamattina is a consummate professional. His expertise is very reassuring. He treats both my husband and me, spends more time with us than our previous cardiologists and is very pleasant and personable. We feel very fortunate to have him as our cardiologist. I was pretty lucid while having a heart catheterization recently and I observed the respectful and guiding way he treats his colleagues and those he supervises. It is clear that they hold him in high regard. I was very impressed and again reassured.

Very pleased with Dr. Lamattina. He explains things well and takes time to answer questions. One feels like someone is finally in charge.

Smart, open, doesn't rush or interrupt, explains everything.

Dr Lamattina and his team were all I could ask for and ran and evaluated a number of critical tests. He was also on the Cardiac Cath team at Beth Israel Deaconess and was totally supportive and professional

Long wait, rude front staff

Tremendous Doctor. Outstanding Bedside manner. Very easy to communicate with. Has responded numerous times off hours to my concerns about pulse, pressure, etc. Very accommodating regarding appointments when issues have come up. Discusses approaches with me, explains pros and cons, very helpful. A great guy. I can't say enough good about this doctor.

Can be difficult to get routine appointments but when I had urgent problems he was responsive and immediately available.

I was recommended to Dr. Lamattina by my PCP on a Monday last year, when my PCP suggested I see him soon for chest pain I'd been having during exercise routines. I called Dr. Lamattina's office as soon as I got home and his staff scheduled a stress test for Tuesday; the very next day. He determined that I had a blocked coronary artery and suggested that I go that day into Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess hospital's cath lab to see what was gong on. I consented immediately. His staff handled every detail of getting me transported by ambulance ("you're not having an emergency, but this is just easier") and getting checked in to BID, where a few hours later I had angioplasty and a stent for the blocked artery. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Lamattina, his staff, and his association with Beth Israel Deaconess that made this whole experience a very positive one.

Obviously intelligent and pleasant, but very HMO oriented, whereas my previous cardiologist gave you the feeling that you had all the time in the world. Office staff not helpful. Didn't give instructions in writing, just by phone, and responded to a list of reportd severe symptoms by offering an appointment time 3 days later. Physician-patient connection rather remote. I feel like a folderto be read, not a human being to be cared about.

Dr. Lamattina was right on with his diagnosis and treatment. Very professional, will not waste your time.
