Dr. Cristina I. Anez De Gomez, MD

Each person have varied health needs and experiences, mine was over a period of several years seeking thorough & responsive care through several medical professionals before finding Dr Anez De Gomez. She is very thorough, responsive, pleasant and not once has made me feel like it was the commercialized environment found in so many medical services today. Each visit feels like a connected interest in my overall health and well-being through diet and exercise with an emphasis on overall health not prescriptions or vaccines.

For the first time I felt listened by a doctor. She took her time to review my medical history and referred me to the right specialist to review my condition,

Rude. Very textbook with her response. Caters more towards to very sick patients vs. those that raise serious questions that require answers from her. Does not attempt to get to know her patients. Push referrals and ensure you make a unnecessary follow up appt with her. Won’t be returning back.

The doctor seems to be totally clueless. She came into the cubicle, talked non-stop, did not allow me to talk/ask anything (interrupted all the time), did not perform any physical examination (the assistant had done temperature measurement, blood pressure, and weight before the consultation) and told me to monitor my condition and come back in a month! The consultation lasted less than 10 minutes and she left the room. I complained at the front desk but they still charge me for an office visit! Ridiculous, she should not practice medicine if she does not know what she is doing.

I am not even sure she speaks English well enough to have a regular conversation with a patient. First visit she spent most of the time looking on a computer monitor, then reading posted question to me, a yes or no dialogue. On the end she wrote referrals without having any tests and the referral was for a procedure I had been taken to twice during hospital stays nor did she explain why she wanted it or felt to have an update. Actually I was feeling well and I had a need of a new doctor because my insurance was off and on with this hospital chain. Another reason, I live close to the hospital and in emergencies I would end up there but not having a doctor there. For 10 yrs I saw a very highly rated doctor associated with the U of Chicago Hospital and who got much under control what my health problems had been. So she even changed a medication taken for 10 yrs. at least from 3 pills daily, every 8 hrs. one, into one pill to be split for am and pm. The last reason needing a doctor for… renewals of all medications I have taken for a long time but pharmacies only can fill for 90 days with 3 renewals. She started changing that, part of medical retirement benefits I had when nobody had a drug plan. Just writing renewals for 60 days, one or no refill. She would hand my the renewals at the end of visit without any comments or discussions even I keep a log book for many years of the 4 times a year 90 days refills by the pharmacy I have to use by the provider of my medical expenses and the additional company providing or managing the drug plan, a company used by Trident and other plans and customers. Also costs of the 2 visits I had with her were close to three times in my co-payments I had before. Somebody had to pay for this new hospital she is working for. That's what it looks like.
