Dr. Salvatore Mark Albini, MD

El Dr. Albini es lo que toda mujer necesita cuando queda embarazada. Desde la primera visita sientes el respeto que tiene a sus pacientes y la delicadeza con la que trabaja para que no te sientas intimidada por los procedimientos. Las visitas prenatales de rutina pueden ser cortas si todo está bien y no tienes preguntas. Por primera vez sentí que un doctor tomaba en serio mis preocupaciones y si tenía preguntas se tomaba el tiempo de explicarme cada una de mis dudas. Además, cuida muy bien de sus pacientes y su enfoque médico está basado en el bienestar del paciente, por lo tanto apoya y practíca aquello que mejor beneficie a la mamá y al bebé. Recomendado 100%.

I saw Dr. Albini for regular appointments. In 2016 I had an ultrasound that identified a 6cm fibroid but he did not think it was the problem. Fast forward to 2018 and multiple yearly visits and it’s now 10cm. I was never told it had increased in size and was never told that it was the reason I wasn’t able to get pregnant. I went to a fertility specialist that clearly identified the fibroid as the reason and that I would need to have the mass removed. The specialist needed my Pap smear results so I contact Dr. Albini”s office and was told they’d send them. I followed up with an appointment with Dr. Albini regarding the surgery and asked about my Pap smear results because they hadn’t been sent. I was told the most recent ones had “been thrown out” due to insurance reasons. Apparently Pap smear is only need once every 3 years at my age and was never told. I would have paid out of pocket for this but wasn’t given the choice. They shouldn’t have even taken the sample given that they have my… entire history! He referred me to a laparoscopic surgeon at UCONN and I couldn’t get an appointment for 3 months. I ended up at an oncological surgeon where I was told that it’s a 50/50 chance I’ll need a hysterectomy, WHAT!? None of this was ever disclosed by doctor Albini. I feel COMPLETELY let down by my experience with him. I ended up going to NYC and having a very successful laparoscopic surgery. Unfortunately, I would advise against Dr. Albini based on my experience and I am actively seeking a new local Gynecologist.

excellent doctor, takes time to explain...

Dr Albini is caring,concerned and eases your mind . He came highly recommended by a personal friend who is an RN . She insisted he could help me when no one else could and she was so right. He took his time, encouraged questions, followed up a phone call and was right on with my diagnosis. The only negative is getting through to his office very difficult and office staff can be very rude. However he is worth overlooking all of that he is that good!

Dr. Albini makes you feel comfortable, answers questions, provides additional information as requested. He has a warm, caring manner and is thorough in his review of your medical history, labs, etc. I have been very pleased being his patient for the past three years. Excellent MD.

gave unnecassary procedure under general anethesia, never followed up, never visited recovery room. Never make courtesy phone call, even by phone call as to how I was doing.

Please, stay clear of him! It may be impressive that he is head of gyn at St mary's hospital but he is a very incompetent dr. I had hysterectomy #1 with him, developed chronic probs immed post op and complained to him repeatedly. Was dismissed and ignored by him. After changing drs/practices and many evaluations (scans, ultrasounds, etc) I was told it was necessary to redo surgery. I ended up being loaded with infections throughout my entire abdomen and my organs were eroding. New surgeon (at a diff hospital) told me that if we waited any longer to do this 2nd surg i would have become septic and died. If Dr Albini had listened to my chronic complaints and did appropriate cultures and ct scans i would not have been put on death's door. After reading full medical records (after this 2nd surg), 2 diff attorneys agreed that i was a victim of malpractice, however, it is almost impossible to prove in the state of CT

SPENDS QUALITY TIME AT THE BEDSIDE, SHOWS CONCERN AND COMPASSION. ENCOURAGES QUESTIONS, ANSWERS QUESTIONS USING EASY TO UNDERSTAND VOCABULARY. WOULD NOT HESITSTE TO RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR.
