Dr. Anthony Adolfo Luciano, MD

Horrible bedside manner. I would not recommend him at all. Very closed minded individual, not compassionate what so ever.

I believe Dr Luciano is good at what he does and is very knowledgable. However he completely dropped the ball with my husband and I. My husband and I could not get pregnant and after many tests we discovered my husband had a low sperm count and motility. We were told our real option would be IVF. The last step in the process is meeting with another Dr because Luciano's office uses a diff hospital for the procedure. At that meeting the Dr questioned my husbands results and after 1 more simple test diagnosed my husband with retrograde ejaculation. Something where IVF may not be necessary. We waisted an entire year with Luciano between the long wait to get appointments and not being able to get one when needed pushing the start of the IVF back almost 3 months. Not to mention being misdiagnosed. My suggestion is if it's boy troubles stay away. Go somewhere where they specialize in treating men. My suggestion would be UConn Farmington.

I will certainly recommend Dr. Luciano to anyone with GYN issues. I have been dealing with endometriosis for the past 14 years and just had my fourth laparoscopic surgery (1st with Dr. Luciano) to remove previous scar tissue and adhesions. I was incredibly nervous about having surgery again as I had some complications with a previous surgeon. Dr Luciano was very understanding and helped to ease my fear with a great bedside manor, information about my condition and skillful surgery. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and by the weekend I had less pain than before my surgery. Dr. Luciano even called me the day after my surgery to see how I was doing. The UConn Health facility and staff was wonderful too. Everyone did their best to ease my fear and pain. I am grateful to Dr. Luciano and staff to be feeling better!

Dr Luciano removed 6 extremely complicated fibroids from my uterus. He is a very sweet calm well educated man. He is the leading surgeon in this field. He taught all the others in CT ! I don't know why anyone in CT would go to any other surgeon since he taught probably most of them! I trusted him whole heartedly. My uterus is now in perfect condition. The downside is I did not like the hospital experience. I felt I was left to deal with residents and his daughter (she is a good doctor but not as good of a listener as him - yet still young. She will learn). I would have surgery with him again over any other doc in the US. It took 6 docs to find him and I am SO happy I did as other docs probably would have told me my uterus was a loss. He made it perfect. However, now that we are trying to conceive and we hit the 1 year mark, his only answer is IUI, fertility drugs, or IVF. I asked for extensive progesterone and thyroid workups since I had a hunch that was my issue and he said he… doubted it and there was no need to do the bloodwork. So unfortunately I had to find another RE to help with these issues and as they relate to fertility. Turns out I am hypothyroid and have low progesterone. I only wish Dr. Luciano would have listened to me and my hunch b/c I feel we have wasted a year and I trusted his opinion. But as a surgeon, he is TOP NOTCH.

I can't say enough about Dr. Anthony Luciano. He is not only a very well known surgeon who has a tremendous reputation among physicians throughout Connecticut, but he is a doctor who spends time talking with you and listening to you. He is the doc to see if you have uterine fibroids. I am grateful for doctors who sit and talk with you before and then again after an examination. He is thorough in asking about your general health as well. He wants to know about your cholesterol, your exercise regimen, Vitamin D, etc. AND he is not quick to do surgery as so many OB/GYNs are. In my opinion, he is extremely conversative in this area and he's the expert everyone wants when it comes to myomectomies. Respectful, warm, concerned, and skilled. What more can you ask for in a doctor. Look at his vitae, his contribution to the field of women's medicine. He is the best.
