Dr. Beata Maslanka L.OM, MSTOM

Beata Maslanka, L.OM, MSTOM, is a Licensed and Board-Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist, and the founder of The Great Turning Acupuncture. She established the clinic out of a deep desire to support the health and wellbeing of others following the widespread stress, burnout, and accelerated aging that emerged in the wake of the 2020 lockdown.Beata has been practicing acupuncture since 2006. She holds a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, a leading institution known for its focus on integrative, patient-centered, and traditional East Asian healthcare. Her extensive clinical training includes internships at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, the Initiative for Women with Disabilities Program, St. Vincent Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York City.Born and raised in communist Poland, Beata’s passion for Eastern philosophy began in childhood, inspired by the strength, discipline, …and wisdom of Bruce Lee. His teachings sparked her interest in Kung Fu and later drew her to the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine, driven by a desire to understand vitality, resilience, and healing at a deep level.Her commitment to holistic care was further shaped by personal experience—particularly when her grandfather became ill. Disillusioned by the limitations of conventional treatment, she became determined to find healing approaches that focus on the whole person, not just the disease.Beata has practiced acupuncture internationally, combining her love of healing with her love of travel. She has lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland, reconnected with her homeland of Poland, and spent seven months aboard the cruise ship Adonia, treating passengers while traveling through the Caribbean, Central America, and the Amazon.Now based in Philadelphia, PA, she previously practiced alongside Cara Frank at Six Fishes Healing Arts and currently welcomes patients at her own practice, The Great Turning Acupuncture.Outside of the clinic, Beata is a passionate salsera, an avid lover of the outdoors, and someone who deeply values quality time with family and friends
