Dr. Daniel Grant

I had an experience similar to the other review. My concerns were quickly dismissed and I got no help and certainly no diagnosis. I continue to lose abilities months later and my future is discouraging. If they couldn't help I'd surely have appreciated some real attempt at diagnostics.

Dr. Grant was nice and the training physician was very friendly! However, Dr. Grant made an assumption about my medical problems before ordering and reviewing any kind of imaging. He did not do any blood work, only referred to the labs I had 6 months ago, which were a very basic rheumatology panel. I had a postive ANA. I was told by him that my old labs were normal, no need for more labs. He treated me like my problems were very insignificant because of my age, stating I am too young to have any problems. Dr. Grant told me I probably had congestive heart failure- which supposedly explains the joint swelling I have. I have a cardiologist within the same group (Harbin) and he has not been concerned with my cardiac diagnoses. I complained of hip pain mostly, and Dr. Grant stated that my hips hurt because I had a miscarriage TWO years ago, though I've had hip pain for 16 years. To please me and ease my concerns, he ordered hip xrays & told me to not make a follow up because there is… nothing wrong with me. I left, got my xrays, and then sat in my car and cried. The next day, I got a call from his staff to explain my xray results. I was told to see an orthopedic surgeon about my HIP problem, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with having a miscarriage. I'm now looking at having surgery to fix an abnormal osseus growth from my hip socket that has grinded into the head of my femur. Dr. Grant was a complete waste of my time and the way he made me feel about my pain and problems was uncalled for. I could have easily gone to my orthopedic doctor for xrays, but my ortho wanted to rule out any connective tissue disorders before he does anymore surgery. I waited 6 months for this appointment. As he asked, I will follow through with not coming back to his clinic-- ONLY because he was arrogant, made me feel like my pain was all in my head, and VERY unprofessional by treating me & diagnosing me BEFORE he had any tests done. I do NOT recommend Harbin Rheumatology and especially Dr. Daniel Grant to anyone. I've never had problems with any other specialists at Harbin, but rheumatology needs to be reevaluated so that their loyal patients don't completely leave the entire clinic (Harbin).
