David Van Hoornbeek, PA-C is a nationally certified Physician Assistant specializing in gastroenterology.

After several years of working in internal medicine and endocrinology, David joined the Specialists In Gastroenterology team in 2013. David works closely with the gastroenterologists while evaluating and treating a number of gastrointestinal conditions in both the clinic and hospital settings. 

Patients come to the practice with a variety of symptoms, such as bloating and gas, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, bloody stools, and nausea and vomiting. Some of the conditions David helps treat include gastritis, H. pylori infections, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), swallowing disorders, liver disease, pancreas and gallbladder disease, hemochromatosis, celiac disease, diverticulitis, and Barrett’s esophagus, as well as acid reflux and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). He also treats inflammatory bowel disease, which includes ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.

David and the team at SIG's mission is to provide excellent care for our patients through knowledge, technology, and personalized treatment plans.

In addition to SIG, he is on staff at Missouri Baptist Medical Center where he assists in the treatment of acute GI problems.
