Donnisha Lavigne

I am Donnisha Lavigne, MS, LPC, NCC, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have been providing mental health services for over 7 years and I have worked in a number of settings including inpatient, community mental health, corrections, and private practice. I am experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults and I have provided individual, couples, group, and family therapy throughout my career. I possess both work and lived experience in mental health and strongly believe that my experiences increase my ability to provide understanding and empathy when working with my clients.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia Gwinnett College located in Lawrenceville, GA. I completed my graduate studies at Mercer University located in Atlanta, GA, and received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have received …additional education and training in substance abuse counseling and I was a 2017 Minority Youth Fellow in Addictions Counseling through the National Board of Certified Counselors Foundation. In my professional practice, I identify as a Humanistic Therapist and I take an eclectic approach when tailoring treatment for each one of my clients. Other therapeutic modalities I uses in my practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy.

Finding the right therapist is key to having a meaningful experience in therapy. I understand that once we meet, we might feel that we are not a good fit for each other, and that's okay.
