Dr. Abeer S Griggs, DO

Dr. Griggs is a lovely woman who has an amazing bedside manner. The office staff and follow through, however, are unacceptable. Several years ago, I left the practice. It was not fun sitting in a NYC hotel room (where I had planned to stay while recuperating from a complicated kidney operation scheduled for the following morning). At 4 p.m. I received an exasperated call from the surgeon’s office saying they still had not received the paperwork from Dr. Grigg (I’d been cleared a month earlier and had been told it was being faxed immediately). What’s more, the surgeon had been calling the doctor’s office all week long every day to no avail. They were asking me to please intervene before they were forced to cancel the surgery. I called Dr.Grigg’s staff and. was belittled and told she had been on vacation the week before. The staff did not care at all. I ranted and raved until they sent it . The next day, As I sat in the surgical waiting room, I was told they still didn’t… have it. Were it not for a different doctor’s clearance (my cardiologist), I would have had to reschedule. This was not the first time I’d been blown off by the staff. There is no excuse for this. Very happy I left.

Dr Griggs was my grandmothers' physician for many years before I became a patient. She is a valued and trusted source of all of the medical needs that I ever have. I will not go to another physician. Her staff is patient, courteous and professional. Well deserved 5 stars!!

There a good reason that many of Dr. Elessawi's patients consist of nurses and physician colleagues. She is not only brilliant, but she is an extremely sweet and compassionate person! She takes the time out to get to know her patient's on a personal level. She is outstanding and I've recommended her to every friend and family member because I know they will be in the best hands under her care!

She is bright and when she applies herself she beats other doctors hands down. However, her staff is rude, acts like they are the doctor, is not patient with the elderly and talks down to patients at times. If you have a need and call the office they are quick to tell you "Go to the ER" rather than have the Dr return the call. Also, former staff members have informed us that she talks with the staff and mocks patients behind their back. While the doctor is smart, bright and good as as doctor, as the head of an office and overseer of her staff she fails horribly. When the doctor was just starting she was fantastic! She cannot keep staff. Moral is extremely low in the office and at times you get a sense you're in a VA clinic ... The employees need to be replaced and the right people brought in to help this doctor be the kind of doctor I know she can be.
