Anesthesiologists are physicians who are trained to administer anesthetics, which are medicines used to block nerve sensation. Anesthesia can be either local to one specific part of a body, like a tooth, or regional to block feeling to a larger portion of the body, such as during an epidural for child birth. It can also be more general to block sensation to the entire body, resulting in unconsciousness.
Anesthesiologists assist in surgery by determining how much anesthesia is necessary and by monitoring the patient's level of responsiveness and vital signs throughout the procedure. The anesthesia specialist will also bring the patient out of anesthesia and then continue to monitor his or her vital signs post-operation.
Besides assisting in surgeries, anesthesiologists may also treat patients suffering from chronic pain.

Until you become a pain patient you can not appreciate how many of us are in chronic pain on a daily basis. The good pain doctor's out there are working more hours than Normal doctors in some cases. This is why it takes so long for new patients to get in for our first consultation. They are busy caring for pain patients, just like us. Who is to say which of us is more miserable or in more pain than the next, we all need help!
Dr Sewell nurse practioner injured me by giving me an injection in the wrong area. Dr Sewell also overcharged me $250 and refused to refund the money. In response to my asking for the refund of the overcharge Dr Sewell banned me from his office and immediately cut off the pain medication I was taking. I have had to have surgery and fixing to have a second surgery for the injury from the injection. Now I am told that Dr Sewell staff is making up lies about me to try to prevent me from seeing another doctor. Is this the type of office you want to go to. Read the other comments, what doctor post notices all over the office saying if your rude to their staff they will call the police.
I went to this dr for 6 months. It nearly cost me my life. I've only been to big clinics, I thought I would give him a chance. He talked me into changing my meds to Opana. This med is only for patients who have never used opioid therapy. I had a horrible reaction. Tried to see hi., made a appt but before my I got a letter he was firing me for no good reason except he could. I had seizures, strokes and almost a heart attack. It damaged every organ in my body. Interview your dr. You have rights. Godbless you all in pain and suffering.
He interviewed me I was also interviewing him. I've died twice and take my health seriously. I was born with congenital deformities of the brain and spine. There's are many complications as with most diseases, mine is rare and in incurrable. At that time legally he couldnt tape his patients without consent and I was not rude at all I only asked what the process was and the nurse was with me and stated as much. What he was do was unethitical. Things went well for a couple of months. He had been asking me to try a new med Opana, since I met him. So I relented. This is important, Opana is only for patients who have not been on opiates, HAVE NOT. If you take this instead of the patch, or morphine etc you are putting your life at risk.
