Dr. Akila Vasanthan Iyer, MD

I visited her about a year ago or so, and had a bad experience. I visited to talk about an irritation near my palm that was preventing me from functional use of my hand. She focused on what she wanted to focus on, topics completely unrelated to my palm. She turned the meeting into a physical and decided to lecture me on healthy living for 30 minutes. I have never been back to see her and have decided to change my PCP.

I’ve had this doctor as my PCP and been visiting for past 8 odd months regarding a fistula I’ve had. Originally when I started visiting this was just an abscess but not sure due to lack of what my condition was not treated properly and now this had grown to a fistula and the infection spread to my internal muscle. Personally, I’ve had a bad experience and changed my PCP.

I would recommend finding a different doctor. I recently had the misfortune of seeing her at an instant care location. She does not listen very well and likes to hear herself talk. She is full of herself and her goal is to show everyone how smart she thinks she is.
