Dr. B is very competent! He is a psychoanalyst. You have to understand what type of therapy this is. It is a good fit for those who wants to get a deeper understanding of yourself. It helps you understand the whys, get to root causes and in the end you make changes to things that are in your basic foundation. He appears not to have a lot of affect, but he cares by making statements that he cares. I don’t want a therapist to tell me what to do or how to fix superficial problems. He listens intently and in the last 5 minutes he ask thought provoking questions. Every time I leave a session, I am empowered because I am exploring something new that excites and stimulates my mind! He has helped me beyond measure! If you want to get long lasting results and you are willing to do the work- go see him!

I feel worse after seeing him. He has no empathy during the appointment. I don’t feel like my needs are met.

He is probably very good with patients who don't know their name, current location and lack overall general awareness of self and surroundings. He may be very confusing to those whom are functional with mild to moderate coping issues. The long gaps of silence and the constant and intense staring may make one feel uncomfortable.
