More about Dr. Alan Lee Goldman, MD, FACS
Dr. Alan Goldman, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the Director of Hemorrhoid Centers of America – Atlanta with offices in Atlanta, Cumming, Lawrenceville, Roswell, and Sandy Springs. Dr. Goldman founded Hemorrhoid Centers America in 2006. He was the first physician in the Southeast to use the disposable banding system, and is now the most experienced physician in the United States when it comes to the non-operative treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fissures. Each year he helps thousands of patients avoid painful unnecessary surgery.
Dr. Goldman developed the use of topical Nitroglycerin plus analgesics for relief of rectal pain due to hemorrhoids and anal fissures. These custom compounds have replaced ineffective OTC preparations, suppositories, and steroids as the preferred medical treatment and are now available through our practices dispensary, Georgia’s premier source for high quality and affordable compounds. The in-office use of Nitroglycerin allows for Dr. Goldman to evaluate and treat your pain quickly and painlessly. Many of our patients had been told surgery was their only option. At Hemorrhoid Centers of America we will help you find the relief you deserve without the pain or disability of unnecessary surgery.
It is Dr. Goldman’s mission to eliminate one of the worst operations known to man or women, hemorrhoidectomy. Dr. Goldman is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Goldman did his surgical residency at Emory University Hospital system, where he was also a Research Associate in surgical gastrointestinal hormones and Teaching Associate at Crawford W. Long Hospital. He has practiced medicine in Atlanta since 1981, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Goldman participates in the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and Maintenance of Certificate (MOC) Incentive. We maintain an ongoing review of our care, board certification, continuing medical education, and a patient survey which helps us maintain a high quality of medical care.
