Dr. Alan Louis Levy, MD

Dr. Levy convinced me to get a laser treatment around my mouth for fine lines and then proceeded to burn and scar my face. He continually denied the damage, gaslit me, and maintained I was simply “healing”. I have since been evaluated by five separate dermatologists all of whom immediately recognized the immense damage done to my face. Trusting Dr. Levy with my face is one of the biggest retreats of my life.

I was referred to Dr. Levy by Tara Snell at Dr. Tanenbaum's office for Mohs surgery (basal cell cancer on my nose). Dr. Levy and his staff were exceptionally courteous and attentive. He explained the procedure in understandable terms and personally called my home after both the initial surgery and repair to check on me. I would definitely recommend Dr. Levy to someone in need of a dermatologist/surgeon.

This is a great doctor and dermatologist! He is very reassuring, and extremely intelligent. And, he works!!

Dr. Levy is an excellent physician that is up to date on the latest technologies, is extremely personable, caring, and takes a lot of pride in ensuring the comfort of his patients. Highly recommended, best I found in Memphis and the tri-state area.

My entire family has been to Dr. Levy for skin checks and some removals. He and his staff are very professional and he has a great personality and bedside manner. I have also seen his partner who is every bit as professional as Dr. Levy. We will continue coming to this practice as needed.

I went to see Dr. Levy about having a somewhat large cyst removed. He was very professional and answered all my questions during the consultation. He told me what it would cost and even offered to setup payments. I know this is minor surgery but I've never been cut on before so I was pretty nervous, but he and his staff were very reassuring and the procedure itself was completely painless. I got great instructions for the followup care and his nurse called to check on me to make sure I was ok.

I've struggled with acne and taken heavy dose accutange (Twice) and low-dose accutane for almost 15 years. I went to Dr. Levy since my insurance had changed, and he would not give me accutane as I requested. Although I was very upset because I thought I knew more than he did, I tried a prescription pill, prescription shampoo, and a prescription soap. Over the next few days my skin became very sensitive, but I stopped breaking out completely. I have not even had a follow up appointment since seeing him, because the $10 prescrption soap bar has worked better than $1000 accutane that didn't ever cure the problem. Not only did I not have to buy accutane anymore, but I don't have the expensive creams and lotions my former dermatologist would prescribe. I've struggled with skin issues for 14 years, but Dr. Levy had me cured after one visit. It makes me furious at my other doctors for not doing something simply like this before. I really appreciate what he did--he may have kept me… from becoming dependent on such a dangerous drug.

The staff if very nice. Dr Levy has been very nice until today - we have been there about 4 times before today. Although I have stayed in the room for all procedures done to my mother before - today I was told that it is policy that I sit in the waiting room. She gets very nervous and always wants me there with her as I am a paramedic and emergency dept. RN. I would not recommend a dr who does not take the patients needs into consideration or who is nervous about having family present (especially when they know about my medical background and have proved that I will not get in the way.) Aside from Mom being nervous about the procedure and wanting me with her - she also tends to forget or confuse the information and instructions they give so it is important to have someone in the room to help her with deciphering/remembering the info given.

I have gone to three dermatologists over 17 years. The only reason I have ever changed doctors was because of insurance reasons or retirement by the previous doctors. I will be the first to say I'm not a very picky person...fix the problem and I'm happy. Dr. Levy spent about 15 minutes with me and listened to what I had to say. He met with me and listened--not his assistants. He asked very relevant and pertinent questions that most people wouldn't bother asking or wouldn't care to know. He also actually did an inspection (many doctors just listen and don't even look at the issue). He spent about 5 minutes in his office looking for samples and coupons that I could use for my treatment instead of simply filling the prescription. He also said to call him if the new treatment didn't work and he would adjust it. I was seen BEFORE my scheduled appointment time. The prescriptions he gave were all affordable and substitutions were allowed. The staff was nice and the place was clean.
