Just saw the doctor in his Orange County office. Spent a great deal of time with me. Is taking me off several unnecessary medications and clarified my diagnosis. Just checked and he is not the author of the paper mentioned.. fact checking

He’s kinda racist. See the paper he wrote with Robson Bonnichsen on Native American rights. It’s terrible.

I saw Dr Schneider in his Corona Del Mar office under the recommendation of my therapist. I have been treated incorrectly for depression for some 10 years and have not gotten better. I am now on the correct medication for Bipolar disorder and am very gratefull for the evaluation

I saw Dr. Schneider for a consult yesterday. His nurse[who yes is also his wife] is delightful and made the whole operation seamless for me. I had been treated for the last 18 years incorrectly with antidepressants and kept relapsing. After a really extensive history, he diagnosed me with a form of Bipolar disorder. This conformed to what my therapist thought. I’m really glad he spent the time with me.

I went to see Dr. Schneider for CBT/anxiety. I talked to his wife/secretary on the phone before the appointment, and she said he does CBT and knows about anxiety disorders. I also mentioned that I'd like to get off benzodiazepines that I've been taking for the past eleven years. As soon as I arrive in his office, the first thing he says is that he doesn't do CBT and that he only has a 'working knowledge' of anxiety. Next, he asks me a series of unrelated questions; because he figures I've paid for this session and he's got to fill the time. He mentions that there is a place somewhere in West LA that may be able to 'detox' me from 1 mg of Klonopin a day. He's not even sure of the name or location. He just says I should Google it. He did a half hour session with no referral or any advice. Also, he's not a very nice person; condescending and void of empathy. You're just a walking dollar sign to him. As for his knowledge - I think the aforementioned story says it all. By the way,… he works out of his house. That itself is not a problem for me, but his wife/secretary is right on the other end of a make-shift sliding door. I could hear her shuffling papers in there; so I'm guessing she could hear me too. Some privacy. Stay away!

I have been seeing Dr Schneider off and on for 6 years. When I had no insurance he cut me a break and saw me for half of what everyone else quoted. He is true to his patients and as smart as they come
