Dr. Alan Harold Morelli, MD

I love Dr. Morelli! I appreciate the fact that he does not immediately jump to medications. He has been right 100% of the time so far with my kids. He is kind and personable and I request him every time I go.

Just AWFUL

Just Terrible, really Sad

Dr. Morell is arrogant, condescending and at times just plain rude. He takes little interests in his patients and takes a holier than though approach to diagnoses. STAY AWAY.

This doc and the practice group is nothing more than a money making factory. They have a 10 minute limit on visits and Morelli is the worst, he is dismissive, arrogant and tends to blame Mom if trouble with baby. My son is special needs, they failed, failed failed to diagnose or treat. They simply blamed the mom and supplied me with simple, useless condescending baby care skills. provided by a nurse of course because the actual docs are far too busy. For my son, they were so busy blaming my incompetence that they failed to diagnose GERD, Giardia, hypothyroidism, autism, sensory issues nd i could go on. i am not a sue them type of person, THIS doc and his practice really deserves a slapping down. They want your money. They dont give a crap about the kids.

As another reviewer mentioned, Dr. Morelli (and all MDs at New England Pediatrics) tends to favor a wait-and-see approach to medical care. I don't see it as a positive thing. Often, a treatable bronchitis will become a life-threatening pneumonia and an easy-to-treat ear infection will become a long-term issue. And you have to wonder... why defer diagnosis (against the wellbeing of the child) until a basic and easily treatable ailment becomes something serious? It may be that you think the risks outweigh the benefits (e.g. antibiotics) or it may be you're having trouble diagnosing... Also, MDs at New England Pediatrics are "interchangeable" and your child will rarely see Dr. Morelli. Add to that the very little time they spend with the children and the difficulty in getting an emergency appointment, and the doctors at Firefly Pediatrics (emergency care on High Ridge) will end up knowing your children better than those at New England Pediatrics. There's something really wrong with… that...

Dr. Morelli is a great pediatrician who cares about his patients and is a great diagnostician. He tends to err on the side of "watch and wait" rather than suggesting extreme treatment or medication unless truly necessary, which I appreciate. He is excellent with older children, particularly respectful of their privacy and transitioning from a children's doctor to more sensitive teenage issues.
