Dr. Alan Thorne Williams, MD

I had a colonoscopy because I was over the age of 50 and had never had one. Being apprehensive, Dr. Williams and his staff were very patient and professional, and at no time during the procedure was I uncomfortable or in pain. I will be having another this year because of the finding of polyps in my colon, whose removal probably saved my life. If you are over 50 or have never had a colonoscopy, by all means have one done. They are not as bad as they were 30 years ago. You never know you are having it done and it may save your life.

Wait time was long. Staff was very nice and helpful. The doctor seemed knowledgeable with basic GI problems but I was not completely satisfied how the doctor handled my somewhat unique case. He sent me for an special MRI that came back normal. I was told by the nurse the doc said he didn't want a follow up appointment and to call for an appointment if something happens. I still don't know what the cause of my problem. I was told there were other tests that could be done but he didn't want to do them. I am going to give him one more chance to hopefully help me being I've been hospitalized 2 more times with the same problem since I seen him last.

I wish I'd been better prepared, but he was efficient and took my problems seriously.

He was very professional and nice. He diagnosed my problem, wrote me a prescription I have been feeling much better.

The medical staff was rushed and left little time for explanation of proceedure or diagnostic findings. Staff and secretarial department was very unpleasant and ignored patients questions. The aftercare I received was nonexistant, except when it came to the money. I was taken to court and had to pay double plus some because I missed one months payment. I called and offered to pay the whole amount, but was hung up on and told there was no person I could talk to there. I was so hurt and expressed to my friends my concerns. I wasn't surprised to find out that they had been done the same way
