Dr. Alan Wong, MD

This is a very qualified Dr. who only sees patients once then hands you over to assistant staff. The nurse I saw was lacking in knowledge and it was an overall nightmare in getting through.

Dr. Wong hurt me. I ended up in hospital because he put me on levothyroxine. I also lost my job, was fired because of all the problems I had with thyroid issues.

He does not care about your health.

Just keep taking your insulin, don't worry that you are not getting better. This is a great person but for some reason just wants to stand by and watch you get slowly worse . Has no answer to getting fatter by taking more and more insulin. No real innovation in treatment will happen with this doctor. If you think that diabetes type 2 is curable this guy will change that.

I feel like Dr. Wong is willing to work me to manage my diabetes. I'm pretty glad I found him.

Having worked in the medical field for years - I know what I expect from my doctors.... I went to see Dr. Wong both before, and after my diagnosis of papillary carcinoma (Thyroid cancer). While I found his staff to be engaging and easy to talk to - Dr, Wong was the opposite. At first I found it challenging - I could get this man to break from his flat affect. After several visits he was still flat and rushed. He asked how I was feeling, then quickly dismissed what I said. After my total thyroidectomy, I found this to be unbelievably frustrating. Until 2 years ago, I hadn't so much as been to a doctor, except to have my babies. I've been healthy and active. When I tried to talk to him about the after-effects of having my thyroid taken out - he could've cared less. He literally told me, "Well, your T4 levels are normal and your blood sugars are ideal. Then told me to come back in 3 mos after my neck scan. If I had bumped into him 5 minutes later, I'm 99% sure, he would have no idea who… I was. I need a Doctor who not only cares about his patients but listens to them. A sense of humor is pretty important to me as well. I live my life through humor - it's is the key to my mental, emotional, and physical well being; and it's important my doc can laugh at the craziness as well. His flat affect and lack of concern are unacceptable for ME.
