Dr. Alexander Gerard Capelli, MD

First, I want to start this review by saying Dr. Capelli is an amazing doctor BUT his nursing/office staff are unprofessional, NEVER answer the phone, and are honestly just rude. Capelli delivered my beautiful baby boy in October. I went in for my regular 6-week check-up afterwards WITH my newborn.. we all know mom brain. I was "given" one paper statement of my account balance. I never once received a paper statement in the mail. Not once did Maria or Esmerelda give a call before turning me into collections. They have my email, phone, and work phone and did not contact me once about an outstanding balance. They simply sent it to collections. There is no online portal to check outstanding balances. I recently called because I needed my birth control refilled and Maria had notified me I cannot be seen until I pay my collections fine. This was my first time hearing of an outstanding balance. I was more shocked since Maria and I had spoke MANY times in December and January regarding my… return to work forms. Maria proceeded to be disrespectful and unsympathetic to our situation over the phone and continued to cut me off while I was speaking. Although, Capelli is a great doctor, he needs new staff and I will not be back. AVOID this office at all costs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Capelli's for almost 20 years now. He has seen me thru 1 pregnancy, 1 miscarriage and MANY MANY other issues. throughout the whole time, I trusted this man so much. Just this year, I had to have a hysterectomy, and when the Dr. explained to me why he thought it was necessary, I trusted him totally to take care of it all. I LOVE this doctor and his nurses. This is one I will continue to use for as long as he will continue to see me. Thanks Dr. C. you are truly the best!!!

Dr. Capelli is amazing! I was going to a different OB who literally would see me, give me results, give me antibiotics, and give me the boot. I've been struggling with BV for months and not once did she give me any tips and tricks but instead, just gave me more antibiotics and wiped her hands clean of me... Until I had to come back 10 days later after unsuccessful treatments!! I found Dr. Capelli through my insurance website and I am so thankful for it! He cares about what YOU have to say and what you are going through. He doesn't just throw medicine at you and let you walk. He really tries to find the root of the problem and offers suggestions to try and tame the issue with day to day functions rather than prescribing meds. This has been something hard for me to beat lately, but i'm seeing progress and slowly but surely we're getting to the bottom of it!

He may be a great doctor but when you call all you get is a recording that they are open but away from the desk. They tell you the office hours each day and give you a choice of extensions but at each extension all you get is the same recording so essentially HE IS UNREACHABLE.

I’ve seen Dr. Capelli for about almost 20 yrs. He is one of the best doctors I have. He sits and listens to you and wants to figure out how to help you if you have any concerns. At this office you are not treated as a number you are a person which I can’t say that for a lot of offices any more. The office makes you feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Capelli if you are looking for a good Gyno or baby Doctor.

Was recommended to him by my primary physician after finding out I was pregnant with twins. I have had the worst most difficult pregnancy and he has helped me through it every step of the way. He listens to your concerns and takes them seriously! Every single Dr/Nurse at Menorah Medical LOVES Dr. Capelli, he is a joy to be around. Will continue to go to him after my pregnancy. Oh and the nurses at his office are amazing as well!

After 3 miscarriages and heavy, constant bleeding my OBGYN at the time wanted to put me on birth control pills and be done with me.I refused and went to my Primary Doctor who had just recently had a hysterectomy by Dr. Capelli and told me to call him immediately. I got in within a week after talking to a very caring Nurse. From the minute I met Dr. Capelli I was at ease and knew he was truly listening to me. He suspected Endoditrimsis with the pain and bleeding but also did a Uterine biopsy. I ended up having my Uterus removed which wasn't cancerous but was taken over by Endoditrimsis and had to have Endoditrimsis removed from my cervix in order to keep it. I woke up in extreme pain and they couldn't get it under control and Dr. Capelli immediately came up with a plan to get it under control. I have 2 autoimmune disease conditions so pain management after surgeries I have had is difficult. I was at Menorah and put on the "quiet" floor per Dr. Capelli's instructions. I actually had… hours of quiet without people coming in and out constantly. I can't tell you how much that meant to me. I ended up with an infection (also thanks to my autoimmune diseases) and at my one week check up was put on a strong antibiotic. Dr. Capelli himself calls to check on you which is unheard of! A one doctor practice is unusual nowadays and this one is extraordinary. You will not find a more kind and knowledgeable doctor. I send everyone I know to him now and they thank me after they see him.

Such an amazing Doctor and very well educated I trust him completely!

I have referred several people to Dr. Capelli, even my own daughter. I believe that speaks volumes.
