Dr. Alexander M Vu, DO

Like another review said, very little compassion. I had already been to the urgent care and had to go again because my symptoms were getting stronger. He claimed that it was mirganes and did not want to do any testing because of unnecessary radiation. I was feeling very bad, having vision problems, nausea, dizziness, my head felt heavy, and I struggled to lift my eyes up. He simply said to see my primary doctor and that he would give me medicine for the mirganes, which he said to take after three ibuprofen, two Tylenol, and three ibuprofen once again. And to keep taking it until the pain goes away. I am no doctor but that is a whole lot of medicine for someone young, and while there may not be any problems now, I can only assume that all of these medications can give me future problems. The family member with me told him that I was not feeling good at all and I would get these severe symptoms every few hours, even at night, he then claimed that his wife had them too and she would be… going to urgent care everyday. I'm not claiming that mirganes are not tough, because they are, but I know what they feel like and what I am feeling feels very different. He then said to not sleep with my phone near me or to look at my phone before bed, I assured him that I always left my phone in the kitchen, he asked me again, and I again told him I never had it with me before going to sleep, to which he said, " just make sure that's true and don't use your phone." I did not felt cared for at all by him, and I would not have written anything but I've seen so many great reviews about him, that makes me wonder if they're true. I understand that being a doctor is a very demanding job, but they work with patients, with sick people who want someone to listen to them and help them and if they dont have patience for their patients, then they should find another line of work in the Healthcare area. Dr. Alexander was very arrogant and interrupted me many times. I also didn't like the advice to just take in pill after pill to feel better. Sure, I might feel better at the time, but what about when I don't take the medicine. That's not a cure, it's a temporary solution. He could have ordered a CT or MRI, I had not had any radiation for years, but he claimed it was bad. I've now booked an appointment with my neurologist, and she says it's best to see what's going on through one of those tests. I only hope to shed some light on how Dr. Alexander really is.

I had a pleasure of being taken care by Dr. Alexander Vu. He was skillful and very friendly which made me feel assured and comfortable. His diagnosis is on point and accurate, and does not prolong to unnecessary procedures and medications. I highly recommend.

Went in to get stitches and was able to take care of my problems professionally. He was very friendly and made me feel comfortable.

I had to visit the Shady Grove Hospital in Germantown, MD and unfortunately Dr. David Vu was my attending "doctor". I went in because I had fallen two days earlier. Had a red toe, bruises up my arm, back ache and extreme headache and eye pain. The treatment I received from this "doctor" was horrible. He completely dismissed me ... I think he assumed I was looking for drugs. He ordered a shot of Toradol and let me go about an hour later. He didn't want to run any test because he didn't want to expose me to unnecessary radiation. How else are you supposed to see if anything is broken or maybe have a concussion. Ten days later I still have pain. This man has no bedside manner or compassion for being an ER doctor. If I ever come across him again I will walk out. Since then I have had x-rays done of my lumbar area exposing a problem in my descending aorta which now I need further testing. My head still hurts but I'm not sure why for a lack of medical care from this man. Avoid… him at all costs.
