Does not take horizon nj health. It is the only rheumatologist in the area. Health care has become prejudice for medicaid patients. Shameful.

Dr. Kimel is one the best Rhumatologist in NJ. He is dedicated to his patients. You can always get in touch with him even on weekends. He is very knowledgeable with Sjogrens and Lupus autoimmunes disease among others. Unlike other doctors who like to push medications, Dr. Kimel manages his patients care in the most the most responsible manner. He is excellent!!!

Was sent to him by my primary doc. My blood was all messed up and my kidneys were failing. He spent so much time asking questions and performed a real physical exam.. ( my other docs never even touched me). Said he thought he knew what it was and ordered some blood.. called me 2 days later to tell me to come back and now I am on treatment and feeling great. He saved me. What a nice compassionate doctor. You have to see how the other patients rave about him. Thank God we got him and didn't go to the other group we were told to go to in Clifton, ,Summit, where our insurance , BCBS was accepted. By far the best experience I have had medically in years. Explains everything in regular language and my made us feel cared for and comfortable.

Have been seeing another rheumatologist for 4 years for my PsA now, who stopped listening to me and just told me to take Advil anytime my pains got worse. My PMD and dermatologist told me to see Dr. Kimel and boy was I glad I did. Spent 1 hour going over my case and repeated all the blood tests and X-rays and he found out that was not on correct medications. Switched medications up and now I am feeling great! He had great bedside manor and was very thorough and actually did a physical exam.. The other lady never examined me. He even called all my doctors to make sure they were all on the same page. He by far is the best doctor I have ever had. Can not recommend him highly enough..

Dr. Kimel is the BEST!

Dr. Kimel is a very warm friendly doctor you can trust and be comfortable talking to. Always there and willing to help.

Was seen by other doctors who never took the time to work my case up. He realized that the rashes I was getting and my fevers were a vasculitis and Dr Napolitano was right to send me to him. I am on steroids now and feel so much better.. Have to start new medicines in 2 weeks. He and the other doctors there are so kind. (try to get Kimel.. more personable!, but don't ask for the Hudson county office.. wait is to long) My girlfriend, also a teacher saw him and he injected her knees and she was pain free afterwards. She was the one who told me to see him originally, but I went through my insurance and they send me to some lady doctor in Bellville and am lucky if she spent 20 minutes with me.. Did bloodwork and said everything was fine.. but apparently it was not.. So Happy I am with Dr Kimel and his group now..

Had to wait 1 month. Staff could not figure out my insurance issue that I had Out of Network benefits and were very arrogant. Kimel himself was probably the best doctor I have seen. Very thorough and explained everything. Changed my medication up and I feel so much better. He is kind and understanding by the way he treated his other patients as I was there. I am very pleased and will highly recommend him to all our friends. Even my husband agreed to switch to him.

For over a year I've tried to make an appointment with Dr. Kimel under two different United Health Care plans, Oxford and Choice Plus, where both times his offices says he does not accept them even though United Health Care says he does. He says he only accepts it for old patients still going to him. What is the point of having a service to find doctors when doctors such as Dr. Kimel use it to bait patients into going to his location.

Wish we would have seen him years ago.
