I have never been so disappointed with a hospitalist here at Baptist South-ever!!! She has come onto rotation on my husbands floor, the past 3 hospitalist have been wonderful. Since her appearance we have fallen off a cliff with pain control and comfort. It has done nothing but put more anxiety and stress on my husband. It’s aweful to see him suffer due to her lack of concern for his overall well being, I am about ready to have the director of the hospital intervene or request a new doctor. We have tried for days to reason n with her with no positive results. Sad, sad, sad down turn of events the past few days.....we will

I had been to see 7 different doctors in the last 3 years all of whom were treating me for the wrong diagnosis made 3 years ago. I ended up seeing Dr. Bartfield when I was hospitalized with what I thought was a heart condition. After LISTENING to my symptoms, Dr. Bartfield said she would like to order some tests to help better understand what was going on. Dr. Bartfield sat down with me the next day and explained why my symptoms and current lab results did not support the previous diagnosis I had been given. She never criticized any of the other doctors I had seen but instead focused on what the lab results had shown and why I had been having these symptoms for so long. She then explained what could be done to help me and what I could expect. After 3 years and 7 doctors all of whom were treating the wrong diagnosis, I have finally made a full recovery. Less than 24 hours after meeting her, Dr. Bartfield had identified the real problem and the correct method of treatment. By… taking the time to listen to me, to understand what I had been experiencing and what the test results had been showing all along, Dr. Bartfield has given me my life back. I feel like my old self again. My only complaint is that she doesn’t see patients in the office, only in the hospital. I can’t say enough about the outstanding doctor and I will never be able to thank her enough!

I am wholly disappointed in our experience with this doctor. We were left waiting all day to be discharged- for the second time at this location. After 5 nurses & techs finally tracked her down -she came to the room for 1 minute which was the only time we saw her. She wrote the incorrect dosage on the prescription from the specialist. Never cleared my husband for food in the 9hrs either. Instead of apologizing she blamed the nurses. This is unacceptable.
