Dr. Allen Pachtman, MD

I met Dr. Pachtman as part of the Los Angeles Sheriff Dept. medical exam before being accepted to the academy. He asked me if I had a college education because he didn't think I understood my current medical condition. He wanted to see my medical records from Kaiser Permanente, and stated that a treatment would cost over $100,000. He remarked that maybe Kaiser did not deemed it necessary to spend that kind of money on me.

Dr Pachtman has a dry sense of humor that might not go over well with all patients, but I've gown to like him very much. I also appreciate his no-nonsense attitude, although again I can understand why some people might want a more warm and fuzzy "bedside manner". More than anything, I think he's an amazing doctor. I have asymptomatic osteoporosis (from years of using asthma drugs) which no doctor before Dr Pachtman had ever thought to test me for (I'm only in my 30s). As a result of his intuition, I am being treated for it now and will hopefully not be affected by it in my old age. He also suggested several new courses of treatment which have brought my asthma more under control than at any point in my life. I'd recommend Dr Pachtman to anyone.

After my first and only visit with Dr. Pachtman, I was left with the impression that his time is valuable, but my time is not. I'm a senior who has seen/met and been treated by many doctors in my life. Some doctors are caring (or at least give that impression) and some can't even give the impression that they care. Dr. Pachtman is in second group. I will not be seeking Dr. Pachtman's services in the future.

I made an appointment and waited over 1 hour with 3 people in the waiting room.He seems "out of it." Not a professional environment and probably should have retired years ago.Of all the doctors I have seen in my entire life I would recommend him the least. Not only unprofessional in his office but not sure of his medical competence no reason to go stay away you have been warned.

Conducted job required physical exam.Very thorough hx and consult. Followed up months later as well. Very straight forward professional. Staff is great, as are facilities. Total comprehesive exam. Will return.

I chose Dr. Allen H. Pachtman after doing a google search in the area. It seems that you really should not believe any of the medical recommendations that you see on legitimate websites. I have had Doctors that had poor bedside manor, however this guy takes the cake so to speak. He is the mos condescending, egocentric piece of work I have ever seen. During my initial consult he was rude, unwilling to listen to me before forming any logical medical conclusions because he evidently knew everything about my medical history just by looking at me. I have never felt that kind of preducice from any practitioner. Please do not go to this doctor, he is pretty much at the end of his career anyways based on my logical assessment of a person I know nothing about and took at face value because I do not care what he has to say nor care what his past is because of what he looks like, an old washed jerk
