Dr. Alric Simmonds, MD

I had a very good experience when I went into Dr. Simmonds Office. A plus was the staff and office was well maintained. I did not have long wait I arrived before my scheduled appointment. He took his time in explaining the diagnosis. Of course I am in no way a Doctor so like anyone else I was oblivious as to what was going on. Dr. Simmonds had me ready to explain my own condition to anyone willing to listen because I believed I knew enough to explain it accurately. I will be going into Surgery Thursday and I without a doubt feel he will do an outstanding job. Most care about the wait time I appreciate the understanding of his knowledge and compassion. I will be back with my surgery Review.

Two (2) surgeries -- 7 years apart -- excellent to outstanding results -- both times! Never had to excessively wait -- but if I did, would be happy to get the superior results I have had with him.

This surgeon is one of the most professional and well mannered surgeons/or medical professionals at Florida Hospital. Easy to understand and was very patient,caring, and understanding. Excellent.

I like the other reviewer had to wait almost two hours falling asleep in the room. First I had to wait about 30-45 minutes and then he left to discuss with the resident in training for another hour. He apologized for taking so long but I was almost asleep when he came in. Nice enough and seemed to take me at least somewhat seriously when my face showed I wasn't into being blown off but I cannot vouch for how good of a surgeon he is. Honestly, since I don't have time to look for a new surgeon, get in all the paperwork to them, etc, I am going back to him. Also, I am going back because he is experienced in what my specific problem might be, which isn't easy to find a surgeon who is as I've heard. Thankfully, one doesn't need too many appointments with a surgeon so next time I'm bringing my Nook and some headphones and hoping he has somehow gotten better about wasting people's time.

First visit. Sorely disappointed. Left me sitting for close to 2 hours past my appointment time. My husband had come along to meet him but never did have a chance because he had to leave for his own appointment after waiting over 1 1/2 hours. For nearly an hour I listend to him gabbing with a patient next door about Carribean food and cooking and several other medically unrelated topics. When he finally did come in he apologized for the wait and said it was because he was looking through my medical records. Guess he thinks the walls are sound proof. Intern came in and asked a few questions. Heard him provide an overview just prior to Dr. Simmonds entering room. Some of the information passed to him was not accurate (I didn't have an MRI??? My records were from an ultrasound and 3D mammogram.) Despite his supposed review of my records I still had to reiterate everything in them. Office staff is nice, nurse was very nice. Being personable is a nice quality in a doctor but in the end Dr… Simmonds needs to balance his friendliness with certain patients with respect for other people's time. 2 hours for a 10 minute face to face is ridiculous.
