Dr. Amanda Jo Wolthoff, MD

Amanda "Amy" Wolthoff, M.D. Growing up locally in Grapevine, Texas, Dr. Amy Wolthoff attended Colleyville Heritage High School. She then completed four years at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Pre-med. During this time, she was on the National Dean's List, the President's Honor Roll and was recognized as an Honor and Leadership Scholar. In 2009, she received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. While in medical school, Dr. Wolthoff was the founder of the Student Run Skin Clinic in San Antonio, Miles for Melanoma project and the Sun Protection Project. She was also the founder and president of the Dermatology Interest Group at the university. Dr. Wolthoff completed her internship year of Internal Medicine at Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, Texas. She then joined the Department of Dermatology at the Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas, where she received the Resident Leadership Award for recognition in superior leadership qualities, professionalism, teamwork and dedication to the residency program. During her final year of residency she served as Chief Dermatology Resident, completing her residency program in June 2013. Dr. Wolthoff has been published in various medical journals, including a Comprehensive Citation Factor in the European Journal of Dermatology. She is a member of the Dermatology Foundation, the American Academy of Dermatology, The Pediatric Dermatology Society and the Texas Dermatology Society. Her clinical interests include wound care and healing, diabetes immunosuppressive effects/delayed healing, prevention/detection of skin cancers, Dermatologic surgery, cosmetic procedures, lasers, preventative medicine, health administration and patient education. When she is not practicing Dermatology, Dr. Wolthoff enjoys spending time with family and friends, teaching, reading, snow skiing, and playing with her rescue dog, Callie.
