Dr. Amit Prabhakar Amin, MD

Dr. Amit Amin is hands down the best Cardiologist I have ever seen in my life! I’m a physician and most of my family are in the healthcare profession. I can honestly state that there is no other Cardiologist like him. Dr. Amin is a physician in the true sense of the word! Dr. Amin is not only extremely knowledgeable in Medicine and Cardiology but is a great clinician. He is not only empathetic but has great bedside manner too. He is sincere and goes above and beyond for his patient’s including my father. Dr. Amin took care of my father from fall 2019 onwards. My father’s case was a very complicated case and unfortunately, many Cardiologists were not willing to do any intervention for my father including Cardiologists at top institutions in the country. However, after Dr. Amin evaluated my father and examined him, he was very confident that he could help him. Dr. Amin is very well trained in interventional Cardiology and he was able to do what most Cardiologists were not. My family &… I are truly indebted to him. He quite literally saved my father’s life. Dr. Amin has become a part of our family. Patients and families in the east coast are very lucky to have him. I would highly recommend him without a doubt to anyone needing care especially in Cardiology.

My mother has been under the care of Dr. Amit Amin since the fall of 2019. Prior to that, she had seen a cardiologist who had what I'd describe as the "worst bedside manor." So how refreshing it was to experience Dr. Amin's style of care! We will never forget at our first visit when he took her hands in his and said, “I look forward to taking care of you as my patient.” He has always taken the time to listen & ask questions, and has always given us his undivided attention in appointments as if my mom was his only patient that day; in this day & age, that is a rare occurrence to find with our healthcare providers! During the pandemic this summer, my mom was scheduled for a heart valve repair, and she was very concerned about going into the hospital. Via a video call, Dr. Amin took the time to address her fears and assure her that she would be safe and in the best of hands. We both felt completely comfortable with her having the procedure done. We recently learned that Dr. Amin would… be moving to another state. We will very much miss his expertise and care, but we wish him all the best as he moves to the next chapter of his career!

Dr Amin took the best care of my mom. He explained everything clearly and answered all questions to the best of his ability. We would highly recommend him to anyone, he’s the best!!

My husband was going to a local hospital and several stents had been placed.. he continued to have blockages while going to this hospital.. after talking with good friends who highly recommended Dr. Amin.. we traveled to St. Louis for an appointment with Dr. Amin and after testing he determined that my husband’s widow maker was blocked and the stents the other cardiologist at the local hospital had placed were too small and this was the reason for the continued blockages.. Dr Amin told my husband.. “ I will fix you, you are special to me.” He has done exactly what he said he would do.. my husband’s ejection fraction was low and now his heart is working at the normal level. There are other issues with my husband’s heart and pacemaker/defibrillator that Dr Amin has also discovered and “fixed” those as well! There are no words just complete gratitude to a smart and very caring physician..We tell everyone that he is the best and encourage our friends who have any cardiac issues to see Dr… Amin. Dr. Amit Amin is a true caring, compassionate Cardiologist that truly spends time with his patients. I researched on line and found him for my mom who is 78 yrs old and he was able to diagnose her as having Paroxysmal AFib which are episodes of AFib that occur occasionally. All the other Drs, thought she was a hypochondriac! She wasn't, Dr Amin was the only Dr. to take the time to really analyze and diagnose her through his professional education and experiences! Thank God for Dr. Amin in listening to her symptoms, taking tests and prescribing the correct medications and physical therapy so she would feel better and live life!!! Today, my mom is so happy and enjoying time with her family and grandchildren!!! Now, my dad, (78) and I (53) also go to him and have had exceptional care and positive health outcomes to live happier, healthier lives!!! I highly recommend him!!! Denise W.

I first met Dr. Amit Amin in the Cath Lab after having a heart attack at home. Being awake for the procedure I was witness to his competence and I knew I was in good hands. Later he came to my room to talk about what he had discovered during the procedure. He was honest about what we needed to do for me to recover. Since then I have had several meetings with Dr. Amin; he is friendly, easy to talk to, informative, encouraging, answers all my questions, treats me with respect and always demonstrates concern about me and my situation. I have been in his care for a year now and I feel great. He is a true professional and I would recommend Dr. Amin to anyone who needs an excellent cardiologist.

I met Dr. Amin after I had just come from a appt. with a Cardio Thoracic Surgeon where the next proposed step was open heart surgery because a previous intervention specialist was unable to clear a 100% blockage in my Right Coronary Artery. In addition to a 100% blockage I also had what later turned out to be a 99% blockage in my LAD (or “Widow Maker”) artery. Dr. Amin first proceeded to clear the LAD artery which took approximately 2 1/2 hrs. He scheduled the second procedure for 2 weeks later. Due the positioning of the blockage in the Right Coronary Artery this procedure took 4 hrs. This is the blockage that a previous intervention cardiologist was unable to clear, thus leading me to the possibility that open heart bypass surgery was necessary. However, Dr. Amin’s skill and persistence was able to “break through” the 100% blockage in what was described as a “bridge” procedure. I literally was in tears while on the table and Dr. Amin informed me that he was “through”, of which… when he said this, I believed he meant the procedure was over and he was unsuccessful in clearing the blockage. But, “through” meant he had broken the blockage and had inserted the stent. I am forever so grateful to Dr. Amin in my avoiding open heart bypass surgery. His continued recommendations, medical advice, and compassion are such a welcome relief. I cannot recommend him enough. It’s too bad the only scale offers 5 stars......he deserves 5 times that many!!

Met today for my first follow up after 2 stent procedures with Dr. Amin. He again has shown me why my switching from my previous cardiologist was such a correct decision. He continues to show that constant care as he did my first visit several months ago.

Dr Amin is terrific!! My husband’s heart disease is quite complex but with Dr. Amin on our side we understand what to expect. He makes sure u don’t leave with questions. I’ve never known my ole farmer/ cowboy of a husband to have so much trust in a doctor. My husband asks questions and gets honest answers without judgement. He’s been to the cath lab many times as well as bypass surgery and revisions of bypassed arteries. Before going to Barnes we always felt like nothing else could be done. But nearly 5 years later here we are! Dr Amin keeps things in check not only in the cath lab but in his office as well. He communicates with our primary doctor to be sure every one is one the same page. If I’m worried about something he’s only a phone call away. Thanks Dr. Amin

Dr. Amin is not only a wonderful cardiologist but also a caring person. He treats us with respect. Listening to our concerns and always making sure all is understood before leaving his office. He works with the EP and our family doctor to be sure all aspects of care are addressed.
