Dr. Amulya Konda, MD

Do not go to this doctor if you care about your health. These reviews are not fake. I never post reviews like this but she was so terrible I had to.

Personable, thorough, and easy to talk to. Answered all questions with patience.

If you have hep c because of intravenous drug use, you are better off lying to her by saying you got it another way. Dr. Konda refuses treatment for those who have hepatitis c from drug use until they have completed a certain amount of substance abuse counseling. She looks down on patients who have used drugs and would rather witness them suffer with this life-threatening virus than write a prescription to save them. My partner was waiting for four months for Dr. Konda to prescribe medicine. He ended up going to a different doctor in Tampa and was prescribed medication on his first visit, which was four months ago now. He is cured thanks to that doctor. Dr. Konda, if you are reading this, your practice is unethical. Recommending substance abuse consulting is a good idea, but it should never come before treating a deadly virus with actual prescription medication. Now, for people who are NOT Dr. Konda, if you have hepatitis c and are researching this doctor, tell her you got the virus… from sexual transmission or a tattoo or something- ANYTHING - other than intravenous drug use, or else she will look down on you as a subhuman undeserving of heath and life.

She decided to take me off medication I've been taking for years after talking to me for 2 mins. She didn't review my records before making this decision. I was with my previous gastroenterologist for over 8 years! She didn't believe me when I told her my condition.

Dr. Konda has spent less than 10 minutes with me for each appointment. She's rushed me through the door just to throw PPIs at me and schedule appointments months later. Doctors get so angry at patients who Google, but what choice do we have when our doctors don't care or spend the time to properly diagnose the problem, and we're left in agony to deal with the sickness. In the end, Dr. Konda assumed my problem is stress/anxiety related and confessed she didn't know what the exact problem is.. so I was referred to another doctor. Thanks for wasting my time and money!

She talked down to me, made me feel like my problems and health concerns were unimportant. I saw her twice and had two tests done, but after those she decided nothing was wrong with me, or couldn't find an answer. It was like she lost interest, so she passed me off to a nurse practitioner for my appointment AFTER I had a scheduled appointment with the doctor for over two months. After that visit with the NP (who was the nicest person there in my opinion), I went through with one more test, but I was so upset and dissatisfied with the staff and my experiences, I refuse to go back and spend any more money there.

Dr. Konda is quiet spoken & thoughtful. Some may see this as less than friendly, but she is genuine, caring & supportive. She listens carefully - if you are prepared with specific questions. I have multiple medical issues that requires her office to coordinate with several other specialists. I especially appreciate that she looks at the big picture & does not focus on her specialty areas alone. I would give her 5 stars, except her staff can be a bit too clinical and sometimes - slow on the draw. If they need to return your phone call, give them a reasonable amount of time, then call them back!

Dr Konda was very gentle and was focused. She appeared to be rude in the beginning but I realized that it was for my response to her to analyze. She was through and quick was very kind afterwards. I would definitely recommend her. Very Professional

This doctor is very judgmental and doesn’t care about anything you have to say as a patient. I was sad to hear her speaking to the next patient just as poorly as she had spoken to me, but relieved to know it wasn’t just me she was singling out. She cuts you off and doesn’t even let you speak and when you’re trying to remember something important to tell her, you’ll forget because she is in such a hurry to talk over you, demean you and treat you like a complete waste of her time so she can get rid of you and get to her next patient. It’s all about the money. Even when I was trying to mention some extenuating circumstances that are most likely important and can truly affect my health and well being, she just gave me a look as if she could care less about anything I had to say and continued to walk out the door when she knew I still had questions and was clearly not finished. I didn’t get to ask my questions or explain a few important things I needed to. What has… happened to doctors in this country? I would rather die than go back to this doctor.

Unprofessional and vary careless. Never ever go to this horrible person. I hesitate to refer to her as a doctor
