Dr. Amy Y Chen, MD

I had my first visit with Dr. Chen today. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The office staffer (Wanda) who first greeted me, was incredibly warm and welcoming. The medical assistant was terrific (Victoria???), friendly and professional, asking all the preliminary questions. After Victoria completed the intake, It only took a couple of minutes for Dr. Chen to come into the examining room. Dr. Chen was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. She conducted a thorough exam answered my questions and addressed my concerns. On the way out of the office, I was greeted by no fewer than 4 friendly staff members, wishing me a good day. This is what all medical appointments should be like.

I had a very disappointing appointment with Amy Chen and would not recommend her. She came across as ignorant/cold and had no interest in hearing about my condition. She was more focused with having me out of her office under 2 minutes.

Dr. Amy Chen was very thorough and explained her findings clearly. She was patient and listened to me, and when I needed surgery, she helped me through the process. I like her so much that I am taking my husband to her, too.

Dr. Chen has a great bedside manner. She listens and we never feel rushed through the appointment. Her treatment has been excellent.

I took my two children to see Dr. Chen for acne. She was disrespectful to them, hard to understand and extremely rushed. We actually had two appointments booked and because the office was behind, both children were seen simultaneously. The whole appointment was dreadful and she was rude and uncaring as a doctor. If I could give zero stars I would - it was that bad.

I had an itchy beauty mark which I was then seen for by this doctor. She checked and said she was not concerned. She told me my insurance would not cover a skin test to determine the cause of itchiness. She said to make an appointment for 6 weeks out for her to follow up and check it then. Well, 2 weeks later I found out I had a classic case of ringworm. Which had spread from that beauty mark to my thigh and then my forearm. The rash had grown from the size of the beauty mark to the size of a nickel. I picked up a tube of anti fungal cream and have followed the directions on that to help heal my rash. Ultimately, I wish to express my concern as to why this doctor did not feel the need to try and treat me; why she did not even allow me the option to have a skin test done to find out the cause of the itchiness; and furthermore why she felt the standard 2 week follow up needed to be 6 weeks for my case. If she had simply scraped some skin and sent it in, I could have gotten the antifungal… cream and prevented this rash from spreading. I am very disappointed for the treatment/non-treatment she provided and will not go back to her or recommend her.
