Dr. Anastasios Raptis

My prognosis was terrible. My doctor was great. What can you say about an oncologist whose first name translates to resurrection? He cares for and about you. I am blessed that he is my doctor and his team members are my care givers.

An amazing doctor who is caring and compassionate. His attention to detail has saved my husband. He has treated my entire family with respect and always explained every treatment and what to expect. Dr Raptis was a GodSend

I met Dr. Raptis while in the hospital for APML. He knows his stuff. He comes in to the exam room and holds your hand and first off asks how you are feeling. I have been in remission for almost 3 years and I owe so much of it to him and his staff. His PA Tina, is a gem. I don't know how anyone could give him a bad review. He's the best.

Yes, he's a little brusque, but underneath that burly exterior is a heart of gold. He cares about his patients and you don't see that very often. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

My father started dealing with him for his AML, He is so uncompassionate. While in the hospital we saw him in the hall talking with on of my fathers other doctors, and he never even came in the room, instead sending someone else in to tell my father they needed a decision today wheather he wanted to be a full code because his cancer is very aggressive. What type of person does this.I would reccomend if you are looking for someone with a good bedside manner and to explain the process to you and your family, DO NOT PICK THIS JERK!!! I can only hope one day he is in this position and is made to feel the same way he makes his patients feel, unimportant and with no hope . If I could give him less of a rating I would!!!

Absolutely loved Dr. Raptis -- very kind, caring and took the time to explain things and make sure we understood what is going on --

This afternoon I found Dr. Raptis to be a completely incompetant hematologist. It appears his only area of knowledge or expertise is oncology, but as far as hematology, he is not well-versed in the different blood diseases or how they can affect the rest of the body. Not only was he ignorant, he did not pay attention to detail, or to any of my symptoms; he did not notice the enlarged spleen or the jaundice and instead he referred me to a primary care physician. I have had to live with my illness my entire life, and I know how it affects me and my body due to some excellent hematologists that I have been blessed to have been treated by in the past, but Dr. Raptis assumed I was completely ignorant instead of doing his own research. I did not appreciate that he focused more on talking to my husband about soccer and baseball than on focusing on the matter at hand. I did not appreciate how he implied that I was either lying about or exaggerating my symptoms. Lastly, I most certainly… did not appreciate that instead of focusing on the symptoms that are interferring with my daily activities, he chose to focus on other symptoms that I did not even bring up because they are not bothering me at all. In all, he was inattentive, uneducated, ignorant, careless, rude and biased. I would not recommend him to any family member or friend needing medical assistance within the field of hematology. He definitely was not worth the 2.5 hour wait!

Dr. Raptis is an intelligent, precise, attentive, caring doctor. He knows what he is doing and if he does not know something, he will stop at nothing to find the answers so he can help you. He is respected by all his peers and patients.He is a large man with a heart of gold.
