I cannot say enough about the help Dr.A provided for me when I was misdiagnosed. Now I am taking the right medications and I gell good again. Thank you!

This is one of the worst doctors I have ever seen! She only does appointment via a Skype session in a clinic, which I don't have a problem with. My first and only appointment with her she introduced herself and then asked me why I was there? Did she not read my file from the other two doctors that took a book load of information from me and then forwarded it to her in the same clinic. After telling me what I was there for she basically told me that she could not prescribe the medicine that I went to her to get and then started to refuse to give me the second medicine that I needed. I am a transfer patient from another state and now can not get medicine for the condition I was being treated for. When I asked for further details as to why she basically told me, "I don't feel comfortable giving it to you." and then later changed and started saying, "I can't give it to you because this is not in person you have to go see another doctor". She does not have good bedside manners and is uses… a tone that is condescending with you. I had to ask her about my second anxiety medicine about 5 or 6 times if she was going to give it to me and she finally agreed to give me a 3 month supply. I left the appointment in tears and 2 months wasted just trying to get to the doctor to get my medicine for my conditions. How is this doctor even certified?

My daughter loves her. She was reluctant to see a psychiatrist, however her counselor recommended it. Now she is looking forward to her appointments and never missed one!

I was treated for a long time for depression with minimal results. After seeing Dr. Adiaconitei I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and started on Abilify. I finally feel well and I am grateful I finally know what is going on with my mental health.

Very nice doctor , smart and professional. My daughter has been a patient of Dr.Adiaconitei throughout high school and even now, while she is in college, she check with her whenever she comes home. As a parent and a teacher I have the greatest appreciation not only for Dr.Adiaconitei but for all the clinic staff who have been in a way a part of our family. I referred family members and friends to the clinic and they were also very happy with the services provided.

I used to be treated by her in Maryland. Did not know she practiced in VA. I tried to call the clinic number but is not in service. Would want to resume treatment with her as she really helped me through a very difficile period of my treatment.

I am a firm believer that when something is broken, and you can't fix it yourself, seek professional assistance. This Doctor may have the license to practice, but she is a far cry from being professional. I have never felt so belittled in my entire life in a session that lasted less than 10 minutes. I left her office in tears. My session was via Skype, for which I had no issue, until this incident. We are the wave of the future, but something as delicate as psychiatry should be a consult in person. I had seen her twice before this last time. Her resistance to listening to the patient was frustrating. I questioned a few medications she suggested for treatment and the amount she recommended. I thought that might have set the tone, but after reading her first review on here, I am convinced she is not well educated on the medications she prescribes or the medical background of her patients. Without going into much detail, I had been taking a certain benzodiazepines for over 25 years… due to anxiety and seizure disorder. I know the limits in which it is used and that after taking it at a certain dose, some patients build a tolerance to it and therefore require increased dosage. Through my years, the most I have been on is a 2mg dose 3 times a day or as needed. I have since decided that the medication should be used in moderation for full effectiveness. For the past 4 years my dosage decreased to 1mg, 3 times daily or as needed. I have not increased or decreased since. Since she was my new psychiatrist, instead of requesting a refill from my family doctor, I trusted her to refill my prescription after reviewing my file and consulting my physician. NEGATIVE. She simply filled my prescription at the dosage of .5mg twice a day. According the information on the medication, to safely “taper” a patient who has been using it for more than 3 years, a person taking 3mg or more a day should decreased by .5mg every two weeks until 1mg a day is reached. I made an appointment with her because during the holidays, I had a several bad panic attacks, trouble sleeping, and chest pains I attributed to the panic attacks. I ended up in the ER and now have to follow up with a cardiologist because of an irregular heartbeat. I mentioned to the ER doctor the recent change in medication and he feared that I could be suffering from withdrawal and suggested I see her immediately to adjust my dosage. During my appointment, I questioned why she decreased my original prescription and she said…”That is what I am comfortable prescribing, if you don’t like what I prescribed, then I suggest you see someone else” (REJECTION TAKEN). I only wanted to understand her thought process on taking a person from 3mg a day to 1mg a day without proper tapering. I told her that I was fine with her decision, I will see someone else after suggesting it more than once (REJECTION). Then I told her that I was having trouble sleeping and I have been taking over the counter medicine for sleep. I told her that I past my two week mark and the label suggest seeking a physician, as I did. She recommended Trazadone, I told her that I had tried that medication before (this information should be in my file) and I had text book side effects and prefer…. She replied, abruptly before I finished my sentence… “Then keep taking the over the counter medicine if you don’t like what I suggest, or find another doctor that will help you” (REJECTION AGAIN). At that point I felt much rejected and insecure. I walked out of the session in tears because I felt hopeless. I demanded a refund and an appointment with the director of the practice. I will filing a formal complaint on her. I am hoping that others who took the time to read this are fully aware of this doctor’s practice. The review before mine solidifies her demeanor. I am a huge advocate of suicide prevention, and I feel that this doctor is a detriment to the reputation of Psychiatry. " Psychiatry is more important to the general public than ever before, and with the rise of reported mental health and behavioral health issues, it might seem a bit confusing as to why individuals still tend to ignore the repercussions of leaving these symptoms untreated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that the suicide rate of Americans aged 35-64 years has risen almost 29 percent from 1999 to 2010. In Europe, the rate of employees reporting mental health issues to their employers has risen to two out of every five workers. Tremendous amounts of studies, an increase in global awareness and a shift in attitude towards treating and helping those with behavioral or mental health issues has likely brought more of these issues to light.”

I should have listened to the reviews on this lady when I read them before I started going but the first appt or two I did not have an awful experience. Plus she is the only anxiety doctor within an hour from me.. She prescribed me xanax and told me to take 6 Mg a day which is a lot of xanax! I couldn't take 6 a day but then after three months she cut my prescription in half and I finally just stopped going to see her because the past time I went she said I needed just one .5 Mg pill a day.. I'm not sure how you go from 3 Mg a day to .5 a day. She started basically interrogating me when I walked in and kept talking about other patients which I'm pretty sure is illegal. plus I don't like that I talk to her on skype mind you. But she was getting so close to the camera I would go from seeing her chest up at the desk she was at then I would just see her nose and eyes.. really weird. I think this doctor has bigger problems than myself so I didn't feel comfortable and I walked out of the… office.. very very awful experience. If I could contact someone to do some investigating on her I would. I don't know who to call.. she was always a little sketchy to me but I never said anything, and this past time she was not professional. On the edge of her seat. Would be nice then rude then nice then rude. Even my 4 year old looked at her and told her to be quiet because he could tell she was being crazy... do not go to her!! Especially if you go to pathways to skype with her.. just don't skype with a doctor. It doesn't sound normal and that's because it isnt
